Raze "Everywhere" feat. Frankie Flowers & Elle Razberry

The homie Raze has a new album on the way, "Living in Technocolor". This video is a teaser for the first joint off the album, "Everywhere", produced by D'Matikk featuring Frankie Flowers and Elle Razberry. I've heard the full track and it's dope! The full track will be available soon, so in the meantime enjoy the teaser video.

Check It ... Panic "Beating Fast"

I caught this joint from producer Dave Derrilykt (who was featured on MKE's Best). Panic (who was also featured on MKE's Best on a track with SPEAK Easy) is an emcee out of Milwaukee. Dave produced the track and Panic laid down a dope flow. Enjoy.

What I'm Watching ... SoulStice "Strange Kinda Love" [Vid]

I posted this track a few months back. I said when I initially posted the track, that it's straight real talk! I continue to applaud SoulStice for putting this track out and taking a not so "safe" stance as a hip-hop artist. Glad to see there's a video for it now. Dope track. Check it!
"Strange Kinda Love is a song about universal love and tolerance. Since it was originally released, it's won four songwriting contests, including the Billboard World Song Contest. In it, I reflect on my experience as part of an interracial couple and recall that it wasn't long ago that my wife and I couldn't have gotten married in the US. Today's "free love" struggle centers around the LGBT community and same-sex marriage. I'm happy to report that since I wrote this song, five states and the District of Columbia now issue same-sex marriage licenses and five more provide equivalent spousal rights. We've got a long way to go, but we're moving in the right direction."

Check It ... @AdriftDaBelle

I caught this joint in the email. Yeah, I'm on a female emcee kick right now. Deal with it (lol). Adrift is dope. These two joints are off her new project, "Garden State Parkway".
"This Georgia born-Jersey bred Hip Hop Artist embodies a now lost breed of female MC (i.e., MC Lyte, Salt N’ Pepa, Nikki D, etc, etc). Adrift’s music has proven to be intoxicating during countless performances at Atlanta area venues- as well as impromptu open mic appearances. Her voice can captivate the most jaded of Hip-Hop heads with gritty, realistic word play from a woman’s perspective."

"Trouble" @TheRealJayMills, @RAtheMC and @Emperess

Jay Mills

RAtheMC

Emperess

I'm supposed to be on a blogging break. Yeah, that's not going to happen.

So, instead I hit you with a dope joint from three female emcees. Jay Mills, RAtheMC and Emperess, all representing the DMV, bring heat with this joint right here. It's a slightly older video but I bet many haven't seen it. I've long had the conversation about the quality of female emcees on the mainstream stage. These three are quality. I'm definitely feeling "Trouble". As OC said, it spells trouble for wack male emcees.

What I'm Watching ... Lola Maxwell "Assembly"

I caught this joint in the email. I dig it.

Lola Maxwell, a female emcee out of DC's Southeast, has something to say in her rhymes. Her new mixtape, "Basik Edukation" drops March 24.
"As a native of one of the most violent and badly influenced areas, Southeast D.C., this young and gorgeous, but hard-core emcee has crept into the music airwaves and is dulcifying ears with hip hop tunes that make you nod along. So what, everyone samples and no one said it was the correct way, but critics from all over are eating up these 90s bass-bumping beats like candy. Lola Maxwell is the name and it may not get worn out. Looking back to MC Lyte and Queen Latifah, being a female rapper, especially with something intriguing and effective to spit, was not appreciated. So why does Lola think she can place her feet into the musically raunchy atmosphere, so-called ruled by men? Because she is fresh, experienced and ready to check the rhyme, something many other emcees fail to do."
