What I'm Watching: ¡MAYDAY! x MURS - "Zones"

"That’s how it goes / When you let go / Fuck what you know / We lost in our zone."

If you don't own this album, how come? Why not? What in the hell is you waiting for?! Haha. Even though I've played this album repeatedly, every time a new video comes out, it feels brand new to me. Dopeness! Also, if you have a 4K tv or phone, check this video out in the highest of qualities. Oh yeah!

Typ-iLL - "100 Dollar Bill" (Prod. by Sick Luke)

I love hearing music from artists I haven't heard of that gets my head nodding off the first track I hear from them. This Typ-iLL joint does exactly that. Check out what he has to say about the track and hit play. See what you think.

"People complain that pro athletes make a lot of money" said Patrick Ewing, "but what they don't understand is that we need a lot of money because we spend a lot of money," he concludes. The quote may be attributed to the world of sports, but the crossover to the music industry isn't a long shot. While there's nothing wrong with getting together with the homies and spitting a few bars, Long Island's Typ-iLL understands that in order to be successful in the rap game, you need to treat your talents like a business. But with the money comes the problems that can arise from becoming successful; bitter people who ride your coattails for a chance to make it big and use you as a stepping stone for your own agenda. "100 Dollar Bill" has Typ-iLL getting his Scarface on--starting from a humble beginning to envisioning his future empire and the steps he'll take in order to own the world. Over a crisp, head nodding beat from Sick Luke, iLL drops a series of hardbody bars that'll get you motivated to get on your grind. For more banging boom bap joints, peep iLL's 'Turning Point' EP, which is now available!

Download: Childish Gambino - "Gangsta Grillz Presents: STN MTN"

New mixtape by Gambino, hosted by DJ Drama, titled "STN MTN". It's short for Stone Mountain, where he was raised in Georgia. Put all that together and you get the idea of what this mixtape sounds like. Go check it out and then keep an eye out for that Kauai EP he'll be releasing.

“The Gangsta Grillz mixtape is sort of like — it’s a dream. And the dream ends when I wake up in Kauai. And they go into each other — it’s one complete project. You can download the mixtape, and you can go buy the EP. The money from the EP goes to help with keeping Kauai clean, and also helps with getting audio and visual device for cops policy.” says Gambino.

Devine Carama - "Priory Of The Rhyme Pocket" (Prod. by Enter The Cosmos)

Check out Devine's latest joint from his upcoming "Believing In Forever" album.

Devine Carama's Thoughts:

"I wanted to kind of put rappers on notice with this jawn. My first 2 singles had more of a musical purpose and direction, but I know my core fan base enjoys it when I just RAP. So this record is for them to let them know there will be plenty of that on the album as well. It's also frustrating hearing rappers get older and/or lazy and start falling out of the rhyme pocket. I just feel staying in pocket is a huge element of rhyming. So I tried different flows within the pocket."

What I'm Watching: P.So The Earth Tone King - "She Don't" feat. 8thw1

She don't like Hip-Hop?! I don't know how you do it, P.So. I don't think I could do it. Haha. I like this. This video is pretty cool. Great job to Anwar, KO, and P.So on this one here.

"She Don't" off his latest album, Gateway to Greatness/ Constellations. The track, originally released last year, reunites P.SO with his AOK Collective fam 8thW1 over a jazzy hip hop beat produced by KO Beatz. Illustrated and directed by Anwar Morse, "She Don't" is the perfect video accompaniment to this awesome track. What I'm Watching: Diamond District (yU, Oddisee, Uptown XO) - "First Step"

Diamond District is back with the visuals to their first and dope out the gate single to the album "March On Washington". This album is going to be bananas.

DC's Holy Trinity is back with their first visuals from the new album "March On Washington." yU, Oddisee & Uptown XO enlist director Jay Brown for the visual narrative on "First Step." Starting with XO we see the DC emcee light up the opening verse putting spirit back in the music before passing the torch on to his brethren. yU then spits cold bars with the linguistic dexterity of a seasoned veteran, all the while casually grinding an African chew stick. Meanwhile, the video lays out the metaphor of three emcees on separate paths coming together to form one group. In the last scene the track's producer and final lyricist, Oddisee, takes the helm of his ship: "Man, it's just the way it go, if I want it, say it so." Get ready for the new album coming October 14th.
