Logic - "Driving Ms. Daisy" ft. Childish Gambino (Prod. by Logic)

Readying his release on Def Jam, Logic drops this gem featuring Childish Gambino. The concept behind this track is that Logic is playing the part of Morgan Freeman and his successes are played by the part of Ms. Daisy. Pretty cool idea if you ask me. The project is rumored to be executively produced by No I.D., so that's definitely something to keep an ear out for.

What I'm Watching: Georgia Anne Muldrow - "Pop Iconz"

Check out the visuals from Georgia Anne's latest.

The Anaconda Killer takes aim at mainstream mindlessness!

Georgia Says:
“We as parents have to walk a very fine line between being watchful and overprotective of what our kids are exposed to...and that job is being made even more difficult by the hyper-sexual, consumerist and vain aesthetic packed with visual associations that are intentionally targeting the pre-teen generation. I’m placing the blame on the corporate agenda that abuses the minds and souls of talented or even aspiring artists.

To represent an awareness that is willfully avoidant of self-realization is the bottom line for these influencers of consciousness; if someone’s life goals are completely external his/her mind can easily be subdued and controlled.

Art means too much to me, i ain’t having it."

About the track:
When Georgia Anne Muldrow surveys the musical landscape, she's left wanting more. It's not easy for us to watch the likes of Nicki Minaj dressed up as kalediscopic crack dealer highlighting and promoting a dead end lifestyle.

"rap about the trap 'stead of kneeeling to god
rap about their back 'stead of freedom through art
rap about their cheese in a wig from a doll...
your lips are being used black swann, like a pawn"

Produced by Chris Keys, Georgia Anne Muldrow blesses us with her views on the politrix being parlayed into a hateful power structure that is affecting the community. Please don't get it twisted, she's not interested in your riches, she's trying to tell you the children - they are listening.

Diamond District - "First Step"

Finally! Diamond District is back. Oddisee, yU, and Uptown XO come out swinging on this hard hitting track off "March On Washington". Can't say enough great things about the production Oddisee brings to the table. Add XO and yU to the mix and you get an explosive sound that reverberates from the states to overseas. Nothing short of dope on this single. Check it.
From the upcoming return of Diamond District "March On Washington" October 14th. Diamond District is yU, Oddisee, and Uptown XO. Produced by Oddisee.

When Diamond District dropped In the Ruff on Mello Music Group in 2009, the gritty drums and grimy raps combined as elementally as hydrogen and oxygen. The D.C. Voltron of Oddisee, yU, and X.O. dusted off and revitalized a sound once consigned to the catacombs.

Hailed as an instance classic, its impact reverberated throughout the underground and mainstream. The Washington D.C. City Paper called it the city’s best album in many years. During an era when lyricism was deemed too intellectual and samples too dated,Diamond District overturned conventional logic. They preserved the raw and made it righteous.

A half-decade later, the holy trinity has returned with March on Washington. The truths remain timeless. Wisdom over rhythm. Slang turned into testament.
