What I'm Watching: ¡MAYDAY! - "Shortcuts & Dead Ends"

"I'm treading water in the deep end / I'm tryin' to kill off all my demons / Embrace my flaws and all my defects / and my shortcuts and dead ends."

¡MAYDAY! is one of my favorite bands out now. Their music is extremely incredible. The lyrical content, storylines, production, pretty much everything that goes into their album is a work of art. Hit play, turn the volume up, and engulf yourself in this dope video.

What I'm Watching: Boog Brown - "Windows Open"

Boog Brown is so dope. Her style, flow, music exudes a chill that gets my head nodding, eyes closed in some zoned out mode. Very talented emcee, Boog, releases the visuals to a single off her upcoming "The Late Bloom".

Pre-Order Boog Brown’s new album The Late Bloom.

What I'm Watching: Marco Polo - “3-O-Clock” ft. Organized Konfusion

Yooooooo. Organized Konfusion. Shoutout to Marco Polo for this. I approve the hell out of this collaboration. I shouldn't be surprised. Marco Polo does not disappoint. Have your radios ready October 12th.

The lead-single from Marco Polo's forthcoming LP, PA2: The Director's Cut, accomplishes what no one else has been able to pull off in over a decade--reunite Organized Konfusion. Since the duo disbanded in 1997, there has been no new OK material and every few years or so the usual "reunion rumors" emerge and then disappear.

Marco Polo's forthcoming LP, "PA2: The Director's Cut" will be released on 11-12-2013 via Soulspazm Records, with exclusive vinyl courtesy of Slice of Spice. The album features appearances from Talib Kweli, DJ Premier, Posdnuos, Masta Ace, Kardinal Offishall, Styles P, Lil Fame, Alchemist, Oh No, MC Eiht, King Tee, Michael Rapport, Large Professor, Inspectah Deck, Rah Digga, Slaine, Ill Bill, Organized Konfusion, Doppelgangaz & many more.

The Hip-Hop band Political Animals are made up of Sotorios Fedeli on vocals, Jen Harper on bass, Trenton Wright on drums, and DJ NEB on the turntables. Check it.

What I'm Watching: NOM - "The Christening"

Iowa's NOM has just released his debut project, Lucid. The project features production from Jharee (of nuLOVE), Weirddough, and others, and boasts appearances from Wally Left, Boycott (of nuLOVE), and Calliko. The project is a spiritual journey in audio form, with NOM's conscious content sounding perfect over the soulful, mellow production.
