Raheem DeVaughn - "A Place Called Love Land" (Preview)
Preview Raheem's upcoming 9/3 release of "A Place Called Love Land" right now. He talks about the 8 tracks he's previewing before each song. I've been a fan of Mr. DeVaughn since his first album. This one sounds like it's on par with his other works. Peep it.

Download: Apollo's Sun & The Boomjacks - "The Ownlife Sessions, Vol. 1"
A pretty good EP from these folks Apollo's Sun and The Boomjacks. Yep!
The Ownlife Sessions is a small collection of tunes by lyricist Apollo's Sun and beatsmith duo The Boomjacks. The term "Ownlife" was an idea introduced by author George Orwell in his classic book, 1984. The word is defined as such: "Ownlife refers to the tendency to enjoy being solitary or individualistic, which is considered subversive. Winston Smith comments that even to go for a walk by oneself can be regarded as suspicious."
Be who you are. Walk alone. Do not let anyone define you. Ownlife.

Shad is fresh as fuck on the mic. Gotta credit Q aka ThroatChopU for putting me on to him. And I've been a fan of what I've heard from Saukrates as well so this joint produced by Skratch Bastid is a no brainer. Volume up!

Download: Awon & Phoniks - "Return to the Golden Era"
A very refreshing sound encompasses this entire album from beginning to end on "Return to the Golden Era". Soon as I hit play, the album pretty much lived up to its title name with its head nod inducing, throwback feel. Awon and Phoniks, from New York and Portland respectively, got together and created a project that's smooth and dope enough for multiple replays. Easy. A good combination of story telling, flow, and production makes this album a very likable one almost automatically. Hit play and let the music speak for itself.

What I'm Watching: D.Chamberz - "Memories, Drama"
Peep the description to D.Chamberz's new video then hit play!
"Memories, Drama," a heart felt track from Coney Island's D.Chamberz, reflecting on what made him the person he is today. This song is a walk through some of the trials and tribulations that D.Chamberz has had to deal with throughout his life. Track produced by Flawless Tracks. The visuals for this track were provided by Mills Miller, and they bring a more somber vision into D.Chamberz' world.

What I'm Watching: Marques Houston - "Give Your Love A Try" (ft. Problem)
New joint from Houston's upcoming album "Famous" in stores August 27. Overall, I like his music and think he's got a pretty good catalog of R&B. Not sure why he's looking more like a rapper than an R&B singer in this video but I can jam to this here. Peep it.

Childish Gambino - "Centipede"
With Mr. Glover rumored to be doing only 5 episodes for Community next season, maybe we should be expecting more music from his as Childish Gambino. This joint was released recently and I dig it. Check it out.
