Allen Poe - "Gina" ft Basement Up & Von Pea (produced by Nemo Achida)
Finally playing a little catch up on some music with this smooth, summer feeling, upbeat joint by the homie Allen Poe (1/3 of KY's MC trio Basement Up). With Von Pea of Tanya Morgan assisting on the mic, "Gina", produced by Nemo Achida, comes as Allen's first single off his upcoming LP "Pocket Full of Ohms" set to release Fall 2013. As Allen Poe puts it, "It is a comedic recounting of the frustrations of high school nerds misfiring with the ladies." Check it.

What I'm Watching: Torae - "Steady Mobbin' (Produced by 9th Wonder)"
Torae's a beast. What more do I need to say?! Even though this is off his 2012 project "Off The Record EP", I'm posting this video as a friendly reminder of how dope that record is.

What I'm Watching: 5:AM - "Let Up"
This joint directed by Edwin Escobar is clever. Track is produced by Willis which seems to go hand in hand with the direction of the video but 5:AM is the guy that seems to bring it all together with the flows. This track bangs. I dig it.

Talib Kweli - "5am In Brooklyn", "Rocket Ships" feat. Busta Rhymes (Prod. by RZA), and "Fine China"
"Y'all niggas soft, B. Y'all niggas soft, B. You spoiled. Used to be you had to go look for your Hip-Hop. Now you're served it on a silver fucking platter." Talib definitely sounds like a man that needed to get shit off his chest. One of my favorite emcees. I can NOT wait for this new album that's out in days. May 7th!
"Rocket Ships" feat. Busta Rhymes (Prod. by RZA) off of 'Prisoner of Conscious'.
"Fine China track is so ill I decided to throw a verse on it." - Talib

What I'm Watching: Viva La Vam - "Mike & Ike's"
New visuals from Viva La Vam off their new project that has some familiar production with some unfamiliar flows. Sounds like good stuff.
Check out this new collection of music interpreted by Viva La Vam and DJ Pest. The Best way to describe this music is "Hip Hop Is Back" in a Jazz, Funk, and Rap kind of way. Follow @WeAreVivaLaVam, @HipHopViva, @djpest

Wally Left - "Came of Age (Happy 18th)"
Wally Left speaks like an adult matured on this track produced by andrewwilson. Refreshing to hear from a cat his age. Check it.
Wally Left is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. Known for his youthful energy, nonchalant style, and a flow that bounces over beats like a pinball, he has dropped one project thus far: the LCGT$ EP, a project where he rapped over beats from Chuck Inglish beat tapes. Part of the teenage rap crew No State Backgammon Gang, Wally is in the midst of working on several different projects, looking to release more material in the Fall of 2013.
