What I'm Watching: Psalm One "Kids Right Now" feat. Mikkey Halsted

Interview: Miss Special x Audible Doctor

Miss Special linked up with the homie Audible Doctor for a fresh interview ahead of his I Think That... project (out today). Great interview. Oh and cop that project, STAT!
Before The Brown Bag All Stars' release party for "Brown Label 2" Audible Doctor spoke with Miss Special of Special Sundays Radio Show about all of his upcoming projects. Those projects of course include his new EP "I Think That..." which drops tomorrow (9/25), "Doctrine", the instrumental project executive produced by Large Professor, a second EP with Maticulous, plus another EP towards the end of the year. He also spoke about how Large Professor found out about him and how he found out about Chuuwee. In addition, he spoke about how large of an impact Fat Beats NY had on his career and the people he works with. Plus he dishes out info about his Burger King obsession and his usual order.

Introducing @NiaKeturah

"Baby, I'm just trying to add more continents to my photomap."

I enjoy the discovery of new music. Not that it was hard to stumble across Nia Keturah's new project, considering the Maryland representative sent it to me via email. But, as many folks with a music submission inbox knows, hitting play on an aspiring and unknown artist is often difficult. It's all about taking the chance on music from a person you've never heard of and not feeling like you've wasted your time in the first 30 seconds.

As I often do, I opted to hit play and listen to The Missed Education of Denise Huxtable from Nia, who calls herself the typical college kid, until she dropped out and decided to make a mixtape about it. With production from John Lass, Jinesis, Savvy Society and Sango Beats, she really lays out a story. I dig it. Below is one of my favorite cuts. And if you dig it too, dig in to it and enjoy the rest of MEDH.

TMB Presents: Jinesis "I'm On It" feat. Dremur

We woke Dremur up, pulled him out of bed and threw him in a recording booth. The result, I'm On It, the second single from the upcoming TMB x Jinesis project, Otisis EP Remixed. As you may recall, we teamed up with the NYC based and TMB affiliated producer last year on his Otis Redding sampled project Otisis. Now we're rehashing it and adding some up and coming emcees to the mix.

Dremur has been on a bit of a musical hiatus, and after hearing some of his new unreleased material, Jin and I thought he'd be a perfect fit. And it works. Look for more from Dremur coming soon, as well as more from Otisis EP Remixed. In the meantime, enjoy the music. Chea!
