What I'm Watching: PRO'Verb "GRAVITY"

PRO'Verb unleashes the second single off his project, While You're Waiting, released last October. Filmed by Jay Dexter of Sun Chase Media, the video has a real chill and laid back feel, much like the track. I dig it. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Eddy B & Tim Gunter "Tomorrow"

I caught this one on the twitter (old person voice). Definitely digging both the visuals and the track. I'm gonna go peep more from Eddy B & Tim Gunter, in the meantime let's enjoy the Lex Kimbrough directed video for Tomorrow. Chea!

What I'm Watching: @DirtyLoops - "Rolling in the Deep" (original by Adele)

I've completely been blown away by the music I've heard in the last 3 hours. Dirty Loops does a phenomenal cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (girl, you should be proud!) and their rendition has steadily been gaining momentum across the media and social networks. Coming out of Stockholm, Sweden, band members Jonah (keyboard), Henrik (bass) and Aron (drums) take the funkiest twist and turn one of Adele's #1 hits into a delicious jazz infusion. And while I truly hate to make comparisons between artists, keyboardist Jonah, has essentially channeled Brian McKnight in this particular song to the point where I thought either a) my eyes were deceiving me or b) my ears were lying to me. "Impressed" doesn't quite express how I feel when experiencing Dirty Loops going hard on this track. I'd say, it's one of the best covers I've heard this year to date. If I could, I'd go to see them perform in Stockholm, so until they come to the States, I will loudly admire them from afar.

But still I say, don't believe me? Check it out ;)

What I'm Watching: @Duwende - "As (a cappella cover)" (original by Stevie Wonder)

PEOPLE! People, people, people. I didn't know what to do when I hit the play button on their YouTube video and heard of this glorious awesomeness coming out the speakers. I literally jumped out of my office chair and started grooving to this stellar cover of Stevie Wonder's "As." We all get a little uneasy when we see that a rendition of a song belonging to one of the greats has been done, but when I tell you Duwende put their FOOT (feet?) into this, I mean it. Duwende's sound is warm, inviting, and the harmonies gelled like I haven't heard in over a decade, especially around the 3:03 mark. I can't believe I didn't know about them until today. So be shout outs and kudos to my friend Bri Cox.

Ladies and gentlemen, when I tell you this is what music sounds like, I'm really telling you this is what music sounds like. Don't believe me? Take a listen for yourself. Enjoy.

Want to keep up with what Duwende's doing? Check out their links below. By the way, I know you totally loved that.

PremRock & Talpas "Love of the Drum"

"Sure this collaboration could have been done on the internet by trading files... but if you know me, then you know why I did this and continue to do outlandish things for my art. Whether or not this makes the album cut remains to be seen."

PremRock is a traveling man. He's currently in the Czech Republic working on a joint EP with Czech producer Talpas. No release date yet, but it will be available on Everydays Label, also based in the Czech Republic. Ahead of the upcoming project Prem shares the single Love of the Drum. I dig it.  Hit play and enjoy.

Diatonic x TMB Presents "STEREOPHONIC"

You might know the Twin Cities producer Matt Mulheran aka Diatonic from being the other half of O-Lay & Diatonic. Well, after a successful re-release of their Meanwhile... project, the beat maker releases his very first beat tape with a little help from TMB. The dude is dope and we're proud to be involved with the project. Enjoy the beats. Chea!
20 year old, Matt Mulheran finally creates his very first Beat-Tape. He is on a mission to become a prominent producer in the Twin Cities Underground Hip- Hop scene. Since being drawn to Hip-Hop by the jazz infused music of A Tribe Called Quest, Matt, operating under the name of Diatonic, has continually pushed to create a new breed of Hip-Hop. The D.J./ producer/ audio engineer is currently enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree for Recording Technology at McNally Smith College of Music. Primarily influenced by Hip-Hop pioneers 9th Wonder, J.Dilla, and Pete Rock, Diatonic poses a sharp contrast to the today's mainstream Hip-Hop by rejuvenating classic songs and creating lively soulful Hip-Hop instrumentals.

What I'm Watching: K.Raydio "The Way It Goes"

It's been a while since K.Raydio has been on the site. And I'm happy to have her back. With new music produced by Big Cats, the Midwest songstress releases a cool video for the track shot and directed by Ashley Battle and Marcos Juarez-Gosselin. I definitely dig it. And yeah, sometimes that's just The Way It Goes. Enjoy.
