Alright, ladies! I'm going to tell you now, go ahead and get your Kleenex ready. With the spring wedding season right around the corner, I'm sure this will make your day if you're headed down that path. If you're not getting married anytime soon, take a listen and enjoy a beautiful, heartwarming song.
Those Bronx boys Bitches Is Crazy (B.I.C.) are back with a new project, The HighGo Chronicles. I'll be honest, this is definitely their best work to date. From the intro email, to the artwork, to the production and the sound/mixing. I respect what they've done with the new project. Enjoy their latest. Chea!
The homie Chad over at DonutsandMilk.com hit me up a few weeks back about linking up with his site and djcosthekid.com to present the new project from Phoenix by way of New Mexico emcee Realistic. After hearing a few cuts, I jumped on board for the debut project boldly titled Greatest Hits. I definitely dig what Realistic is doing with his mixture of old school and new school Hip-Hop. Enjoy the music.
Scheme and DJ Scend are back with the latest installment of their Two Turntables and a Mic Series. This round they pay homage to Pete Rock. Look out for the video dropping May 8th and a full mixtape for the series dropping Fall/Winter. In the meantime, enjoy. Chea!
After a few wild days and a bit of a break from blogging, I'm playing catch up with Kirby's A Song A Day series. Thanks EMS for holding down the posts. Having not heard Kirby since last Thursday, after hitting play on Often, again I realize why we've been pushing her music. Such a great voice and an extremely talented person. Enjoy the music.
This past week Quelle Chris came on Special Sundays to talk about his newest release with producer Dibia$e "2Dirt4TV". They spoke about the idea behind the title, how the two linked up, the first single "Live Alone, Die Alone" and the video for it. They also spoke about learning things from youtube, the current state of music, and what's next for him; including another project with Dibia$e along with Crown Nation and Knxwledge, and much more.
"[Like My Style] is me explaining how I don’t fit the typical rapper
mode, and how I’m 100% fine with that," says SigNif. "Embracing
Rejection is about the trials and tribulations of a starving artist
trying to pave her way into an industry that’s not particularly in her
favor. Rejection is a big part of life and once I was able to except it,
I was able to use if for encouragement."
I do like SigNif's style. I've liked it for a while. I've been a long time fan of the Milwaukee bred, NYC based emcee but you already know that because she's no stranger to the site. Sig has been on a bit of a recent hiatus but according to her recent texts, she's getting her mojo back. And today she decided to unleash the Darren Cole/self-directed video for Like My Style off of her TMB, HipHopisCoolAgain.com and KevinNottingham.com presented project, Embracing Rejection. Enjoy the vid.
From the Grumpy Old Men new project, #FreeLunch, comes the visuals for the title track produced by SLOT-A. Shot and directed by Alex Dare for Dare2B Productions. Enjoy. Chea!
"They say a fingerprint is one of a kind." That's how I feel about ¡MAYDAY!. Here they release another cut featuring a nice addition to the track with Jovi Rockwell from their absolutely amazing, soul satisfying, epic of an album "Take Me To Your Leader". I've stated numerous times how that album is my favorite one of 2012 so far and by far. I love how intense and dynamic their music is from the lyrics to their vocal arrangements to their production. I have absolutely no qualms about the album whatsoever. But enough of the rambling, check the visuals.
R. Kelly is still on that throwback flow with this new joint and I ain't mad. I dig the sound and feel of the music and video. Feels quite nostalgic. Check it.
