Jinesis' Picks: Dreamer's Block, Purple Tinted and Network State Of Mind
TMB affiliate and NYC producer Jinesis hit me a few days back with three pretty damn solid projects. I dig 'em all and decided to pay it forward. We might have to make this a regular feature. Anyhoo, enjoy the music. Chea!

NEW RELEASE: FreshNerd "The Hasselhoff Beat Tape"
That boy FreshNerd of 100Akres is dope. I mean, you gotta be dope to flip David Hasselhoff and make it listenable. Ha! Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way ..
Yep, that's right. Yes, I did. I took David Hasselhoff's 80's opus, Night Rocker, and flipped out on every track on there. Now believe me when I tell you that the source material for this beat tape might be the worst album I've ever heard in my life. Not sure how Hasselhoff managed to gain fans off of this but I gotta give it up for him for being able to sell more than 1 copy of this album. #Swag!
p.s. I also flipped the Knight Rider theme and sprinkled in some Knight Rider clips just 'cause of the show's sheer awesomeness.

NEW RELEASE: Hippie Sabotage Vol. 3
These boys are bad. These beats are dope. Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way ...
Vol. 3 represents the conclusion of the Hippie Sabotage Volume Series. After reflecting on both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we started Vol. 3 with the intentions of constructing a project with a stronger, more unified tone. Escaping the traditional patterns and loops of instrumental hip hop we attempted to build each beat around lush instrumentation and hard hitting drums combined with new experimental synth timbres. As each beat progresses towards the unexpected we continually try to bend the boundaries of what is considered acceptable in Hip Hop. From Polish Prog Pop to Turkish Jazz we hope their is something in there for everybody. Take drugs and listen to Hippie Sabotage.

@KirbyLauryen's A Song A Day: Day 100
We warned you that the very talented Kirby Lauryen was taking over the site. Indeed she has. Today she released her new EP Risk It All. If you haven't downloaded that yet, get it here. In the meantime, enjoy day 100 of Kirby's A Song A Day Series. I definitely dig the cross promo as she rocks the blouse from her EP cover with the heart balloon in the background. I'm proud of how far Kirby has come since day 1. But as Robert Frost once wrote, miles to go before I sleep. The work isn't over yet. And I salute Kirby's determination. So, tell a friend to tell a friend, and support good music. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Escape Artists "On and On"
You may remember O-Lay and Diatonic from their Meanwhile ... project presented by TMB and DonutsandMilk released last Thursday. Well, O-Lay hit me up with the video from the Eau Claire / Twin Cities Hip-Hop collective Escape Artists which also includes 3flection and eL.i.Be. Cool video and track. Enjoy.

RAtheMC "Embarrass You"
I don't typically like the idea of rhyming over a popular industry beat and releasing it to the masses but every now and again you come across a banger like this and can't help but to appreciate the dopeness. RAtheMC takes on Kanye's latest Theraflu and makes the track her own, as she lets some things off her chest. Watch how you step to RA or she just might embarrass you. Ha! Enjoy the music. Oh, and happy born day RA. Chea!

NEW RELEASE: Kirby Lauryen "Risk It All"
The hour you've been waiting for.
Kirby Lauryen releases her sophomore EP and it's as phenomenal as we all knew it would be. Lauryen's seven track project is full of powerful vocals, amazing lyrics and simple yet warm instrumentation. As Q put it, "this girl put her foot in Risk It All."
One of my favorite things about this project is Lauryen's ability to craft and mold a song without overdoing it. A lot of artists have the propensity to put so much unneeded "extra" into an album, but fall short with lack luster results. Risk It All is the complete opposite, effortlessly relaying a story to its listeners with tracks like "That Should Be Me" and "His Story."
After having featured her music for the last few months, she quickly became a favorite of the team and we hope that our audience will continue to support her music. And without further ado... Risk It All. Enjoy.
