L./\. x TMB Presents: The Lost Riots "I'm Alive (Video)"
Shouts to my sis L./\. for allowing TMB to host her Lost Riots series. It's been one hell of a ride. I remember two years back before two successful projects when I could see the potential. Now with The Presentation and The L.A. Riots: Mental Fatality under her belt, L./\. gears up for her new project produced by FreshNerd, L./\. Lytes. But not without dropping off the visuals for I'm Alive and the I'm Alive remix. The girl is in a prime position to take over. Pay attention because as L./\. would put it, "I'm alive, bitch." Ha!
L./\. - I'm Alive (Official Music Video) from L.A. on Vimeo.
Video directed by S(c)e(n)e Media. Shouts to K Dot Forbes on the co-star role.

Kirby Lauryen "That Should Be Me"
As if we haven't been going hard in the paint for Kirby's A Song A Day series over the last few weeks, the next day or so is about to be crazy. Just a heads up, Kirby is about to take over the blog with day 99 today and day 100 alongside her new EP Risk It All tomorrow. When that drops, it's gonna change a lot of things. Quote me. Shouts to hostalmalure.com who had the pleasure of debuting the EP version of That Should Be Me (one of my top 10 favorite Kirby tracks). Things are about to get interesting. So, enjoy the ride with the very talented Kirby Lauryen. Chea!

Natasha Ramos "My Guy" (In Studio)
Years back I use to spend a lot of time in recording studios with folks during sessions. I always enjoyed the energy and the creativity inside those four walls, resonating from the recording booth and banging out of the speakers. Natasha Ramos takes me back to that time with her session/interview for My Guy. Calvarado Productions in Association with Jungle Theory and Infinity Red Films takes you in the studio with the Connecticut singer/songwriter as she talks about the track and discusses her upcoming acoustic project. I love acoustic work and can't wait to hear what Natasha cooks up. In the meantime, enjoy the video. Chea!

@KirbyLauryen's A Song A Day: Day 96
"I wrote a song for you today. Help me tell the world!" -KL
Day 96 brings a two for one special. I love 'em both. Definitely dig the vibe in Blue Jeans and Blue Genes. The new Ep Risk It All is due out 4/9. Chea!
Hello Beautiful People ! I Wanted to share with you an interesting thing that happens in A Song A Day, when I am in between two ideas. Instead of going with one I wanted to share both with you. As a songwriter I think this is a common thing, decided how to expand on an idea. Either way I hope you enjoy this perspective and share thoughts with love :)twitter.com/kirbylauryen

Interview: Miss Special x BJ The Chicago Kid x Liza Garza
I chop it up a lot with Miss Special behind the scenes. She's a talented woman with a lot of passion for music. I dig what she does and support as much as I can. A few weeks back she hit SXSW with the rest of the music world and snagged up a couple of interviews with some dope folks. As she uploads them, we'll be posting them. Enjoy.

I was finally able to interview BJ The Chicago Kid before his performance at The Vibe House during SXSW. We spoke about working with Thurz, Pac Div, Fly.Union, a bunch of unreleased tracks with Fly.Union, possibly doing a duet with Kay Cola and his upcoming duets with Joi Starr, Lola, Treasure Davis, etc. We also spoke about the story behind the title "Pineapple Now-Laters", including the J. Dilla influence, bringing soulful r&b back, the next video from the album from Paris and when to expect it. In addition we spoke about the success of the album, the loss of his friend, the creative process when working with Kendrick Lamar and what's next for him.
While at SXSW, I was introduced to the lovely Liza Garza at the WhutUpDoe “Set It Off” showcase. After the showcase, I had the pleasure of interviewing her. We spoke about her appearance on Def Poetry Jam, her favorite hip-hop artists and her first album “BloomfulBeautiful”. We also spoke about her next album, the story behind her latest song “Gather Round”, writing poems versus writing songs, her jewelry line and more.(via @MiSS1SPECiAL)

TMB x DonutsandMilk.com Presents: O-Lay & Diatonic "Meanwhile..."
The Minnesota emcee/producer duo O-Lay and Diatonic re-release Meanwhile... presented by TMB and DonutsanMilk.com. Meanwhile... is a combination of songs that serve as an intermediate project between their debut, The Set List, and their upcoming project, Safe Travels. An album that was all but forgotten, I linked up with the crew to repackage and push their work. I dig what they do and believe in quality music. O-Lay and Diatonic definitely deliver the goods. I look forward to more music from them soon. In the meantime, enjoy. Chea!
