Dunson "Count On It"

Serving as one of my favorite hip-hop artists over the last year with his impressive and lively sophomore album Creative Destruction 2, Dunson is back with his freshest cut, "Count On It" off the fittingly titled upcoming project The Investment. I remember when I first heard one of Dunson's songs, and all I could think was, "who is this guy?" I was taken aback because it has become so extremely rare that an artist puts together such a solid body of work where not one song can be skipped. My hat is off to him, and I'm looking forward to keeping up with his rapidly blooming career.

Just in case you're not familiar with his story, it's pretty cool. So, check it out and enjoy the song:
"Dunson resigned from his career as an investment advisor to become a full-time artist in 2010. After spending a multitude of years playing in bands of different genres, the Maryland native took the chance to become a solo artist focusing on lyrics and production. He has since amassed a receptive, global fan-base, proven through hundreds of thousands of downloads of his self-produced Creative Destruction series, among other projects and collaborations."

ATL by way of Chicago emcee Pharoh is working on his new solo project, Jungle Fever and unleashes a look at the project with the title track. I dig it and look forward to hearing more. Shouts to SUBMiT for shooting this my way. Enjoy.

Interview: Miss Special x Idle Warship

Nothing but jokes here. Ha! Enjoy the interview.
On Saturday night after their show at The Pagoda Lounge in San Jose, I had the great opportunity to interview Idle Warship. In the fun interview we spoke about their newest album "Habits Of The Heart", as far as the concept, the role playing they had to do, the video for "Laser Beams" and the upcoming video for "Beautifully Bad". We also spoke about Res' follow up album "Reset" and her good friend Santogold. We also spoke about Talib Kweli's new album "Prisoner Of Conscious", including the features, when to expect it and where to find details on the anticipated Black Star album. We also spoke about his community mixtape, the idea of Res putting one out for singers, his "Liberation 2" project with Madlib and Res' upcoming "Refried Mac" project.
