What I'm Watching: The BenchWarmers Clique - "Droppin' Bombs" ft. REKS (prod. by Jewbei)

And The BenchWarmers Clique hits up TMB with another one! I'm never disappointed when I check one of their new joints. By far, they have some of the best videos that exhibit what having real fun is all about. Not to mention how dope they are for using bits of video game classics in their music. From the title of their album to the construction of their songs, the whole project concept is genius. So without further ado, please enjoy the latest from Joka Wild and Travisty the Lazy MC, "Droppin' Bombs" feat. REKS off of Adventures in 8bit: Cartridge One.

CrateStream presents: J57 making a beat named "Aqua"

It's always cool to see a producer creating. It's similar to watching a graphic designer design, a painter paint, a model undressing ... wait. What? Ha! Anyway, J57 emcee/producer of the Brown Bag AllStars invites us into the lab through CrateStream as he creates what is being called Aqua. Definitely a solid beat. Sheesh. Look for this joint on the BBAS LP due out in the Fall. Maybe a sneak peak soon? Maybe.

Dice Raw x Statik Selektah "Bloody Mary"

I heard this new joint yesterday. Damn. Another solid beat from Statik Selektah, who has been on a mean streak lately, and some killer verses from Dice Raw. Look out for a collabo EP on the way from the two, but in the meantime enjoy Bloody Mary. Chea!

Jazz "Perfect Picture"

A few days ago after reaching out to us via twitter, I received some music from Jazz, an NJ emcee. I'll be honest, and I've said it before, we receive more music than we can possibly find the time to listen to but for whatever reason I hit play on the four tracks Jazz sent over. You could definitely hear the talent. I felt Perfect Picture was the strongest of the group she sent and so I'll share that cut with you.  If you dig it, you can hear more over at soundcloud.com/rookieofthey3ar. Look out for her project Grand Entrance coming this year. In the meantime, enjoy Perfect Picture.

What I'm Watching: Shane Eli "When We Were Kings"

With an email subject that reads, "Fuck Valentine's Day", Shane Eli caught my attention. So, in the midst of all these Valentine's Day projects, the L.A. artist/producer releases the visuals for the heavy and heartfelt When We Were Kings track off his I Can Do Better project. I dig it. What I'm Watching: Kirby Lauryen - "That Should Be Me" (A Song A Day - 44)

A few weeks ago, I came across Kirby Lauryen and her "A Song A Day" challenge. Although I'm still getting to know her music, I can definitively say she's quickly becoming one of my favorites this year. Her voice is beautiful, mellifluous and her lyrics are raw and honest. Check out one of her latest, "That Should Be Me."

Enjoy.
