Rob Dz and Dudu Stinks "Recall Walker" (Prod. DJ Pain 1)

You might recall that many of the good people of Wisconsin are trying to recall their governor, Scott Walker (aka Scotty). On the DJ Pain 1 produced cut Rob Dz and Dudu Stinks bring activism to Hip-Hop on the Recall Walker anthem. If you're in Wisconsin and believe, join the movement. Boom!

What I'm Watching: Nana "Sao Brooklyn" feat. Nello Luchi

Sao Paulo's NanĂ¡ Rizinni and Brooklyn's Nello Luchi join forces on what they call a "pop/rock/hip-hop track." I dig it. The duo put together a pretty cool video filmed in Brazil and New York for Sao Brooklyn. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

TheMadBloggers.com Sessions: Warren Britt x Chaz Van Queen

That's Warren Britt behind the camera with Chaz Van Queen working on the beat. The duo are currently working on a new Warren Britt EP presented by TMB. Earlier today Warren hit O and I with a link to some of the raw studio creative / brainstorming sessions. To say we're pleased is an understatement. Warren Britt is a cool dude and when we approached him late last year with the idea of doing an EP, he hit the ground running, teaming up with Chaz from the onset. We're excited about the potential of this project. In the meantime, take in a little of the creative process and look out for a single from the tentatively titled AWWWW, YOU MAD? soon. Chea!

The Hollowz "Bleed"

2011 was a busy year for hip-hop duo The Hollowz.

They released their debut album "Dreams Of Sex And Flying."

Producer Ed Cayce released instrumental album "Fears Of Sex And Flying," beat tape "Puppycrusher: The Anthology," and produced music for the wildly popular Epic Rap Battles series on YouTube.

Emcee Logic teamed with fellow emcee/producer Raze to release the LP "...STILL untitled" as well as the EP "...untitled LIVE."

Recently The Hollowz have re-teamed to start working on new music for a new project and inspired by this work, they've released a brand new song!

"Bleed" is a track that originally was to be used as the final track - and only track to feature vocals - of the instrumental "Fears Of Sex And Flying," acting as a bridge into the next The Hollowz album. However, due to messy personal issues, Ed Cayce had to cut production of "FOSAF" where he did, meaning this track was not finished until now.

What I'm Watching: L./\. "A Place"

Truth be told, L./\. is dope. I've been saying that for a minute now and it seems just as the year was ending folks had definitely recognized her dopeness. And L./\. isn't trying to ease up in the new year, as she drops the visuals for A Place off of her Hippie Sabotage produced project, L./\. Riots: Mental Fatality. With S(c)e(n)e Media behind the lens, the video takes a different look at the Brooklyn emcee who is know for her energy on stage and hard hitting rhymes. It's the L.A. behind the L./\. She takes you to A Place that's real chill. Sit back and enjoy this one. Chea!

BLAX Gears Up For 2012

Rising star and unsigned rapper BLAX rings in the New Year off the heels of a breakthrough 2011. After only one year in the Big Apple, the Milwaukee native has quickly established himself as a true talent and force in the New York City hip-hop scene.

The Brooklyn-resident is fresh off a highly-visible and accomplished year. In addition to
releasing two fan-favorite mixtapes – The Blaxploitation Part I & II – BLAX, formerly referred
to as Adebisi, received a complimentary review from former music executive and tastemaker Jeff
Sledge on the respected allindstrom.com.

Adding to his momentum, BLAX was selected by allhiphop.com as one of the “Top 25 Unsigned
Artists of 2011”.

“Being recognized by industry mainstays Jeff Sledge and allhiphop.com means that all the work
I’ve put into my career is paying off,” stated BLAX. “People are starting to take notice and it’s
truly humbling.”

Describing his music as adult-contemporary hip hop, BLAX brings a fresh perspective to the
industry. Armed with a smooth delivery and soulful lyrics, BLAX takes listeners on a feel-good,
socially stimulating ride through his life experiences, hopes and dreams.

BLAX returns to the stage this week, Thursday, January 5th, for his first performance of 2012 at
Greenwich Village favorite, Grisly Pear (107 MacDougal). For more information on the show,
please check out www.thegrislypear.com.

What I'm Watching: Brother Ali "Writer's Block" (Prod. Jake One)

I wrote about this new Brother Ali cut yesterday over at DJBooth.net. As I said there, I really appreciate where Ali is coming from when he'd rather put quality over quantity, and not the other way around like so many rappers are doing in the over-saturated rap game. I dig it. And I respect it. Look out for the new Brother Ali x Jake One Mourning In America and Dreaming In Color coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy Writer's Block. Chea!
