What I'm Watching: The Roots & Big K.R.I.T. Perform Make My (Live At Highline Ballroom)
I rarely post videos of live shows that I didn't attend but I couldn't let this one slide. It's The Roots and Big K.R.I.T. performing "Make My" which is off of "Undun", the album that was released yesterday. It's been getting a crazy amount of great reviews everywhere but I'm not surprised. They are an amazing band. Check out the video and see a little of what I'm talking about.

¡MAYDAY! x The Black Keys - "Sinister Kids Freestyle"
A new ¡MAYDAY! joint. Yep! You know I had to post it. These guys don't stop working. Check it.
Inspired by the recent release of the new Black Keys' album, "El Camino," ¡MAYDAY! hijacked one of their favorite joints from the Keys' last album, with an additional beard-a-fied guitar solo from Plex Luthor to close it out.

RoQ'y TyRaiD - "The RaiDiant Child" feat Elle Winston
RoQ'y stops by to drop some intense and vivid lyrics on "The RaiDiant Child" and is assisted vocally by the lovely sounding Elle Winston. It's always interesting to hear RoQ'y go off when he's on the mic. Dude doesn't play with the Hip-Hop. Check out his brief summary about the track and after, hit play.
"The RaiDiant Child" parallels the story of Jean-Michael Basquait's own self-discovery and the relentless pursuit of one's passion, despite the objections of those around him and the seemingly insurmountable odds that lay before.
The unorthodox approach to art and the determination to voice one's opinion, forever questioning the status quo, whether in-depth or satirically, propels the artist(s) to new zenith(s).
What affects will this (did this) have on someone so disconnected from the standards of society.
Either way.. behind a raincloud lies the sun. Illuminate.

What I'm Watching: Koncept "Aspirations" feat. Soul Khan (prod by J57)
There is something incredible about the Brown Bag AllStars. Whether they are making music collectively or working on individual projects, they always deliver quality, which always gives way to a dope end result. And when they release videos for their tracks, it always builds on what they've created sonically with their music. Koncept continues that trend with his latest from his upcoming project awaken, due out December 13th on Soulspazm Records. Assisted by Soul Khan on the hook and J57 on production, Aspiration is another fresh video and solid track from Koncept. Enjoy.

What I'm Watching: Fresh Daily "The Quiet Life"
Fresh Daily "The Quiet Life" from NVizion on Vimeo.
After a long night/day of work (I generally work a 3am-11:30am shift), Fresh Daily takes me to a real chill place with the visuals to his track The Quiet Life. Shot in Boyds, Maryland and Connecticut's shore, Fresh Daily intended to capture the feel of what made him write such a dope track. Hit play and enjoy the NahGee directed video. Chea!

Fresh Cut Collective Presents A Tribute to Roy Ayers
A cool project from Bellse Soneek of Fresh Cut Collective. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist/ performer/ beat maker from Milwaukee, Bellse Soneek uses samples of Roy Ayers' music in some way throughout the project. As part of a series paying tribute to some of his favorite artists including Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, and Arthur Verocai, this is the first among many dope beat tapes to come. Hit play, enjoy and vibe out. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Levi Watson "West"
Something musically about Levi Watson that I definitely dig. I first heard him on the Jonathan Lowell Still Love H.E.R. cut. Now he returns to TMB with the visuals for West, off his upcoming EP Neptune. Solid joint produced by Dijon Stylez and with this track, I'm definitely interested in hearing more. But in the meantime, let's enjoy West.
