TMB Presents: Madden Miles "A Beat For You [The Donny Hathaway Beat Tape]"

Back at the end of September / beginning of October we linked up again with Wisconsin beatmaker Mark V, going by the alias Madden Miles now, for a new project. As I mentioned before, while a majority of this site is dedicated to Hip-Hop, I have a fond appreciation for soul music. Fond appreciation may actually be an understatement. I love soul music. Which obviously makes sense considering Hip-Hop is fused with soulful undertones by way of rhyme and often times production.

To me, Donny Hathaway was one of those artist that defined soul, and his music embodied every ounce of it. So, I challenged Madden Miles to make a beat tape with Hathaway samples. And the man delivered. Crafting nine tracks, he added to the smooth sound of Hathaway but kept intact the essence of a Donny track. I'm proud to present A Beat For You [The Donny Hathaway Beat Tape]. Hit play, vibe out and enjoy. And I guarantee in 16 minutes you'll be hitting repeat. Chea!

G.R.A.M.Z "The Learning"

Fresh cut from G.R.A.M.Z., over a DJ Babu of Dilated Peoples beat. Probably one of my favorite cuts from the NYC rapper. Definitely a stand out track. Look out for the new project Malcom's Lil Green Car presented by LRG due out next February. In the meantime enjoy The Learning. Chea!

What EMS Is Listening To ... Tank's "Diary of a Mad Man"

Q hit me up with this, and suffice it to say, the man went in. From one of the most highly underrated artists in the R&B world (in my opinion), Tank hits us with a very nice mixed tape. Diary of a Mad Man is raw, and deliciously hardcore. Featuring a slew of guest spots, Diary of a Mad Man is definitely worth a listen and then a download.

Tank teamed up with The DJ Booth and you can listen/download his new project here: http://www.djbooth.net/index/mixtapes/entry/tank-diary-of-a-mad-man

Enjoy!

Chaz Van Queen "Bring Your Smile"

I'll take the late pass on this track (and bonus) from Chaz Van Queen. During a recent convo with Warren Britt about an upcoming collaboration, we were talking about Chaz. I had heard his earlier project Songs From Away and must have missed Bring Your Smile (produced, recorded and written by Chaz) released a few months back. The dude is dope and this track and the bonus cut Do You Like featuring Kool A.D. (of Das Racist) is solid. Hit play and enjoy. And if you dig 'em, support 'em. Chea!

Mr. Ivory Snow - "Better Than J Beiber Freestyle"

Mr. Ivory Snow definitely has got some of that golden era of Hip-Hop feel to his music. From the beats he uses to freestyle over, to the ones he produces then flows over himself. Check out this new joint he just released today. Tell us your thoughts on this cat from Connecticut.
