NEW RELEASE: Lyriciss "The Balance EP: Respect"

The DMV's own Lyriciss is on a mission to deliver up a series of portion controlled EPs, serving up his first with The Balance EP: Respect. This is a clear example of quality over quantity. Containing four tracks (with bonus clean versions) and production from Grussle, J-Scrilla and Chop-La-Ro, Respect is the first of four EPs that will be available exclusively via the good folks over at DJBooth and presented by Inner Loop Records. On Respect we find solid cuts in The Balance, Super Bad, Stop Scheming and Ridin. Look out for the next EP, Money, early 2012. In the meantime enjoy Respect. Chea!

Stream/Download via DJBooth

In addition to dropping the new EP, Lyriciss drops off the visuals for the J-Scrilla produced Super Bad, containing footage from his A3C visit this year. Enjoy that too. Chea!

What I'm Watching: e.d.g.e. "Day 81"

e.d.g.e. "Day 81" (mcenroe for downthedial.com) from e.d.g.e. on Vimeo.

Every time e.d.g.e. goes a quiet, I know he's somewhere reloading and working on more music. The dude is a hard worker. We've been posting up his work on the blog for sometime now, and he's a consistent dude delivering quality music and dope visuals to match. He's also the voice behind the Hip-Hop Breakfast intro over a Sauce Fonda beat. Yesterday our north of the border brethren dropped off the video for the Ritchcraft-produced cut from his All Flow Everything project with mcenroe for downthedial.com behind the lens. Fresh video for a solid track, with the quality I've come to expect. Hit play and enjoy Day 81. Chea!

Justin Bieber: "Billy Jean is my lover but the kid ain't my son"

I work with a lot of women during the day job. So, with that comes overhearing random conversations on a range of topics (read: mostly gossip). This morning, Justin Bieber was their point of discussion. Three adult women talking about the Justin Bieber paternity thing had me feeling some type of way. But acknowledging the paternity discussion ultimately means I need to acknowledge that the youngster one step away from looking like Rachel Maddow has had sexual relationships with women. Which, I guess would make sense considering he looks like Rachel Maddow. Uh, allegedly of course.

Anyway, during the conversation someone said, "his good boy image is gone forever." Then I'm like, "it's a publicity stunt. He's trying to become a rapper now."

Ride with me for a second.

What I'm Watching: The Roots "Make My"

There's more in a minute and forty-seven seconds of this video than there is in some folk's entire video catalog. The Roots drop off the visuals to Make My, one of four videos from their upcoming project undun. You'll probably run this video back a few times because it's captivating albeit brief. Enjoy. Chea!

NEW RELEASE: Jeff Spec "Specnology"

TMB favorite and Canada's own Jeff Spec released his latest project at the end of last month (so, a few days ago). The project, that he's been working on for close to a year, is pretty solid. I dig Jeff Spec's sound and so I definitely dig Specnology. Check out the project and if you dig it too, cop it for the sake of your iPod. Ha! Enjoy. Chea!
