Interview: Miss Special x Beats4Clothes

Maybe she should change her name from Miss Special to Miss Interview. Ha! In her recent interview she chops it up with Beats4Clothes. Enjoy the interview.
On Special Sundays Radio Show (2-4pm www.ksfs.sfsu.edu) I had a live phone interview with Los Angeles producers Beats4Clothes. We spoke about how they got their name, going to recording school with Skeme, meeting Casey Veggies, why they do so much work with Casey Veggies and their upcoming tour with him, Pac Div and Mac Miller. We also spoke about their previous beat tape, their upcoming project "Good For Nothing", the features on that, when to expect it and more.

Lyriciss "The Balance" (Prod. Grussle)

I was under strict orders when I received this joint over the weekend not to release it. So, I blasted it as much as I could and now I'm able to share it with you. Lyriciss returns with the title track off his upcoming debut album. Grussle on the beat and Lyriciss goes off on the track. No, he really goes off. He's just out here looking for the balance.

"This song embodies the mindstate I was in while writing this album," Lyriciss said. "Reflecting on my position in the hip-hop rat race, my personal life, and those around me while dealing with it all. Enjoy it. "

Definitely a solid cut. Look out for his album The Balance out soon. Chea!

"Peace Peace to everyone.  For all who don't know, I'm the headlining emcee for an amazing movement called The Hall Pass Tour.  We're a team of 20 somethings that travel to schools putting on concerts that use music to encourage underserved students to pursue college and follow their dreams.  We are scheduled to tour the east coast this fall, and we would like all of you to be part of the movement.  In order to make this tour a possibility, we've started a kickstarter campaign (www.HallPassTour.com/KickStarter) which lets people pledge to the cause.  With each pledge there are perks, and one of them is an advanced signed copy of When Skies Fall LP."

Anthony Hamilton - "My Friend"

My Friend is a really touching, personal sounding track from Mr. Hamilton that I'm sure folks can relate too. What I love about this track is that he zones out after about 3 and 1/2 minutes into the song. Reminds me of the old school joints. If you got that one special friend in your life, try dedicating this to them if it works. Couldn't hurt. Check it.

Lalah Hathaway - "If You Want To"

I'm zoning. Good music. Lalah must have felt like partying in the studio while making this. Grown folk dance music. I don't mind. Check it!

Goapele - "Play"

Goapele is back with an upbeat, vibed out single from her upcoming release Break Of Dawn, in stores October 24th, 2011. "Play" is a track that you might wanna put on from your way back from the club. The words are somewhat a forewarning as to how the night can end. And from what I hear, nothing wrong with that at all. Haha. Check it.
