What EMS Is Listening To ... "The City That Sleeps" x ReneeDion

I woke up to a some good music in my inbox today. I caught this mixtape from Q and I must say I'm really digging it. It has a real laid back, I'm-going-to-sip-some-wine-on-a-Friday night type vibe. I love her voice. It's smooth, chill. Very nice. Guess what folks? The mixtape is FREE! So definitely download this to your iPods and MP3s. You'll thank me later. No, seriously... Haha.

Enjoy!

D-Sisive drops through with this creatively crazy ass video for the single "No More Words" off his upcoming album. This is an interesting video. I love the whole concept behind it. Track's dope, video's dope, I'm sure the album will follow suit.

Statik Selektah - "Play The Game" featuring Big K.R.I.T. and Freddie Gibbs

Statik Selektah is one of my favorite DJs in the last couple years. I've been trying to pay attention to his work, got Spell My Name Right, Stick 2 The Script, and 100 Proof: The Hangover, and I try to catch him on his satellite radio show. Always impressed with his work. Really dope music. This joint is the 1st release off Statik's next upcoming album titled "Population Control" out October 25th and will be another album I'm copping without even having to listen to a second track. That's how good this guy's reputation is with me. Check out this new joint and see for yourself. Freddie Gibbs and Big K.R.I.T. do not let this track down one bit.

What I'm Watching: Jinesis "No Regrets" from Otisis (An Otis Redding Beat Tape)

No Regrets (Jinesis cuts his hair off) from Jinesis on Vimeo.

It's like everyone is shedding the dreads. My brother did it earlier this year and now the homie Jinesis sits down in the barber chair for a fresh cut. Jinesis has been featured on the blog several times, including The Mad Bloggers presented Otisis. The dude is a talented producer from New York City and Otisis was our brain child. I'm a lifelong Otis Redding fan and shared a vision with Jinesis and he went well above my greatest expectations in chopping up Redding samples to put together Otisis. On Redding's birthday we cracked a monumental number on downloads over at bandcamp and Jinesis shared with me the news that he was going to cut his hair. I couldn't believe it. I didn't believe it. Not until I saw this video. I hardly recognized him at the end of the vid. I salute the brother and look forward to this next chapter of music. Chea!
Here's a video of me cutting my hair. "So what?" you might say, but my hair was as signature to me as my beats. I locked my hair 10 years ago at the beginning of the summer and at the end of this summer, I "un-locked" my hair. Full circle. Completion. New beginnings. I also did over 5 free beat projects in that time as well as grow personally as much as my shoulder length hair did. In 2012 There will be an actual music project from me to support. I look forward to this new, fresh chapter! Thank for everyone's support and listening ear!
