What I'm Watching: C Plus "ALL C.I.T.Y."

California's C Plus is a fresh dude. He was featured earlier today on Hip-Hop Breakfast alongside two other dope Cali emcees. I caught his latest video, released a few days ago, while surfing on the Internets. Filmed in New York City with Erick Lee behind the lens, C Plus serves up a cool vid for the Hippie Sabotage and Chase Moore produced cut. Enjoy. Chea!

L.A. "The L.A. Riots: Mental Fatality" Produced by Hippie Sabotage

"The L.A. Riots: Mental Fatality is about conflict. Life f*cked me up and now I have this massive project in which I attempt to reveal my heart beating up my mind, or my mind beating up my heart, throughout the album in such a way you can hear me blacking in and out." - L.A.

I was late to work downloading this joint at 12:45 this morning. But after a few singles and some shared leaks from L.A., I needed to hear the final product and it couldn't wait until I got off at 9:30am. So, I bit the bullet and took the 10 minute late L. It was worth it. L.A.'s sound really comes alive on her new project, that has seen its fair share of delays. It was definitely worth the wait.

Her previous project, The Presentation (which was also her debut), was more of a mixtape with a strong influence by Kanye West beats. The L.A. Riots: Mental Fatality is more of an album, produced entirely by the California based Hippie Sabotage, with an incredible story and sound.

A solid listen from beginning to end. As L.A. said, she poured her heart into this one. I can't say it enough, take notice. L.A. is alive, and she's arrived. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Frank Ocean "Thinking About You"

I love when people make untypical videos. Frank Ocean recently dropped this video for "Thinking About You" (and I'm a bit confused about this song and the whole Bridget Kelly situation). However, I love this video. I'm not exactly sure what's going on but I love the whole Native American storyline.

Pretty fresh video from Eric Sosa off of his Rhyme & Noodles: NO ARTIFICIAL Flavoring Vol. 2 project. The track and video take a self-reflective tone, looking back and thinking about the moves for the future. Enjoy the James Calinda directed vid.

Well Duck Down Records CEO Dru Ha is running the New York City Marathon on November 6th as part of the NYC Alzheimers Association chapter team in memory of his father. You have to respect that. Check out part one of his training vid featuring celebrity trainer Mark Jenkins (he's trained Diddy, Mary J and others). Look out for ep 2 coming soon.
