Adebisi "What A Blessing"

What a blessing indeed. The homie Adebisi links up with The Mad Bloggers again on his new project, The Blaxploitation Part II,  the follow up to The Blaxploitation. On his new project, Adebisi continues to rap about what he knows. He spits with a biographical flow, providing insight into his life as a rapper, father and more. What A Blessing produced by DJ Noc, the first single off the new project due out in September, premiered over at DJBooth.net yesterday. Today, it hits the rest of the net. It's a solid track. Enjoy. Chea!

After two successful runs with Hip-Hop Hates Multiple Sclerosis and Hip-Hop Hates Breast Cancer, Poppe and company present Hip-Hop Hates HIV/AIDS. DJ Bizzon of The Mad Kids Show on WMSE will be the house DJ with Poppe taking on the hosting duties. They're asking for a minimum donation of $5 with a goal of raising $1000 for the evening.

ScholarMan & Jonesy "The Surface Under (EP)"

A new solid project from the homie ScholarMan and Jonesy. Jonesy goes off of the production providing a solid backdrop for ScholarMan's incredible lyrics and storytelling. The five track EP is dope from start to finish. Tracks like The Day End, S.H.E.s Gone and Raising The Bar are among my favorites. Definitely worth the listen. The Surface Under has soul. Literally. What I'm Watching: Paranoid Castle (Kirby Dominant & Factor) "Orca"

I'm really fucking with this Kirby Dominant x Factor aka Parnoid Castle track. Maybe it's the video directed by Stuey Kubrick that puts it over the top. I don't know. Either way, I've played this joint a few times this morning after having it sit in my inbox for a few days. I dig it. Off the upcoming second project from the emcee and producer combo. Look out for Champagne Nightmares dropping August 30. In the meantime, enjoy Orca.

Download ... The White Russian - "On The Rocks" (Beat Tape)

Here are some more instrumentals you can put a couple of bars on. Haha. Thanks for the folks at UniFi Records for this.

The WhiteRussian
When one thinks of hip-hop production, Moscow is ordinarily not the first place which springs to mind. Nevertheless, from behind the once mighty Iron Curtain comes Dmitriy Pochtarev (aka Dima "The White Russian"), a young man who stepped out of Moscow and into the Golden Era of hip-hop circa 1994. Having absorbed the sample-heavy production styles of hip-hop's heyday, it was not until the turn of the millennium that Dima discovered his own knack for creating compelling beats from diverse source material. After a number of years spent honing his craft, Dima founded Uni-Fi Records out of Milwaukee and provided a fertile environment for musicians of all kinds to work on their music. After pairing up with KingHellBastard and handling production for their sophomore release "Cups & Bottles", Dima acquired the moniker White Russian as a fitting complement to his heritage and the alcohol-fueled sessions which gave birth to the album. With that record under his belt, The White Russian has gone on to produce, record and engineer songs for artist both local (House of M, KHB, Malicious, DNA, Dana Coppafeel), and nationally known (Sadat X, Akrobatik, Raashan Ahmad, Stricklin of EMC), all the while continuing to operate the ever-expanding Uni-Fi Records and further his skills as a producer (2nd Place in 2009 Milwaukee Beatdown). With an ear for unique samples and classic hip-hop beats, The White Russian is a producer with a sonic palette as vast as his homeland.

"On The Rocks" is a compilation of older beats (2004-2008).

Download ... Lodus Dei - "Culture Zombies" (Free)

Check out Lodus Dei, underground Boston emcees by the name of Boomslang & Supertanzi with Boston/D.C. producer C.P.U. (Chris Pegram), also working with Introspective Minds on their next project. They just released self-produced album "Culture Zombies". A good mix of lyrics and laid back production put me in a good zone while I was listening to this joint. Take a listen and give us your thoughts.
