What I'm Watching ... Political Animals - "BlastThe Bass"
Dope visuals to Political Animals' Blast The Bass track. I've seen this group perform a few times and the energy you see here in the video is at least the minimum amount of energy you'll get when you see them live. Check it.

What I'm Watching: Apathy "Peace Connecticut" (Prod by Da Beatminerz)
We cover a lot of artist on these pages, from the East Coast to the Midwest to the West Coast and back. But CT is a place that I use to call home and OC Supreme still calls home. And it's always dope when we can post something fresh from someone from CT getting love beyond the state. Apathy is that dude and he pays homage to Connecticut on his track "Peace Connecticut." And peace to Da Beatminerz on the beat. Oh, and Honkey Kong out NOW. Cop that. Enjoy this joint in the meantime. Chea!

Hypetrak Premiere: Rochelle Jordan "R O J O"
It's not all about Hip-Hop for me. I like to slow it down from time to time. And this joint here is so smooth. So gotdamn smooth in fact. The Toronto songstress Rochelle Jordan delivers up a solid project with her debut R O J O. Tracks like Earth To Your Brain, How to Feel and All I Know are some of the standout cuts on this cool 14 track project. Peep the visuals for Earth To Your Brain and check out the full project. If you dig it, download it. Enjoy. Chea!

Consequence "Mr.RapFix (Hot Water)" (Produced & Cuts by Audible Doctor)
Sure, I give Con a lot of shit on twitter for artwork and sometimes poorly produced videos. That doesn't mean I don't like the dude's music. It means he should do better. In a time when lesser known acts are putting together quality artwork and high end videos, we expect more from Consequence. Shit, at least I do. I haven't had the chance to peep his new project but I did get this track sent to me via the Brown Bag AllStars. It's solid. This joint is produced by Audible Doctor, a member of the NYC based crew. I fucks with this track. Hit play and if you're so inclined, check out the rest of Con's newest project too.

TMB Presents: Mark V "Season Change" (A Beat Tape)
If you're on twitter and you make music, whether you're a producer or emcee, and you aren't using it to network then you aren't using it right. But who am I to tell you how to use social networking. However, I've watched some amazing collabs come together via twitter and TMB has also connected with some very talented folks via the network to present some projects.
That leads us to our latest collaboration with Wisconsin producer Mark V. The beat maker out of Racine has been making beats for about seven years on and off again. He's coming off a two year hiatus and a Miltown Beat Down feature and linked up with us for a project we're calling Season Change. You know, it's August and we're quickly approaching the end of summer and the beginning of fall. Mark V. flips some soulful samples and creates the perfect backdrop for the transition from the warm weather of Summer and cool breeze of Fall.
It was an idea that we both built on and I'm happy to finally present it to our readers. Mark V. is a talented dude. Give this joint a listen and enjoy. Peep the project and a quick Q&A after the jump. Chea!

Ashford & Simpson "Gimme Something Real"
Ashford & Simpson, together were the greatest songwriting duo in American music. We were probably conceived to a song they sung and/or wrote. Yesterday Nick Ashford passed at 70.Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. His impact on music will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Ashford.

Right. So, peep the visuals for "The Birds (Part 1)", starring Akiko Mims off the latest offering from The Weeknd, Thursday. Enjoy. Chea!

Hip-Hop Breakfast Ep 67
It's Friday. And never have I wanted a Friday to come sooner. After working a crazy week, I have this weekend off to party it up with family down in PA celebrating my moms 50th year on earth. I'm definitely looking forward to chill mode, poolside drinks and good food. So, today's ep is a little longer than usual because I'm taking Monday off in anticipation of the hangover I may allegedly be nursing. Ha! So, sit back and enjoy the music and I hope it helps to set off your weekend on the right foot. I'll catch you next Friday. Chea!
