What I'm Watching: Jesse Boykins III "Back Home (Mermaids & Dragons)"

What a fresh video for a dope jawn from Jesse Boykins III's. "Back Home (Mermaids & Dragons)" is a killer track, featured on Boykins' new project Way Of A Wayfarer available over at jesseboykinsiii.com. The video was directed by Dr. Woo with footage shot by Woo and Boykins on their travels. Like I said, it's fresh. Enjoy. Chea!

J-Live "The Live Identity" + ATL & NYC Release Party

Nicki Minaj calls her multiple personalities different names. Weird, I know. J-Live calls all of his J-Live. I guess that's what makes J-Live dope (among other things). The multi-talented producer, engineer, rapper, DJ and more dropped a pretty fresh project ahead of his new project S.P.T.A. due out 9/27. Check out the mixtape. And enjoy. Chea.

H.W. Offers Up "Golden Rule" x "Expiration Date" for Cancer Benefit Project

Man, fuck Cancer. Right? Right! I lost a cousin at a very young age to Cancer and have watched friends and family alike struggle with losing folks to the disease. It's ugly. H.W., a friend of TMB and a Massachusetts based emcee reached out to me regarding a Cancer benefit album he's apart of called Beats for Brains through Starving Raptors. I dig the concept and support the cause. He offered up two tracks on the project and there's a release show scheduled for this Friday in Dover, NH at Fury's Publick House. Two solid tracks and a great cause. Support if you can, I'm sure folks will appreciate it. Chea!

@apathydgz "Stop What Ya Doin" feat. Celph Titled (Produced by DJ Premier)

Apathy has more bars than 18th street in Washington, DC and an appetite for destruction. And not only does he murder beats, he also get hoes (and apparently there's an app for that, leading me to believe I might need to borrow his phone). Add in Celph Titled on the feature and DJ Premier on the production and your neck will file a restraining order against this track. Primo really put his foot into this one and Apathy and Celph killed their verses. This joint was released a few days ago and the only thing I have left to say is Honkey Kong, August 23rd bitches. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Adebisi "Blaxlife"

Collared shirt and an expensive restaurant? Oh, Adebisi think he's fancy huh? Ha! Just ahead of his new project The Blaxploitaton Part II, dropping via TMB soon the Milwaukee raised and NYC based emcee drops off the video for "Blaxlife" from his previous project The Blaxploitation. Under the direction of Brooklyn T, Adebisi serves up a smooth video for the Matt Cody produced cut. I definitely dig it. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: Oddisee "The Blooming"

Belgium's ZBS Studio reached out to Mello Music Group to put together a video for Oddisee's "The Blooming". According to MMG they were honored that ZBS wanted to "interpret the song and apply their vision to the track." Definitely a fresh joint that tells the journey of a young boy through life with Oddisee's smooth instrumental as the soundtrack of his story. Directed, shot and edited by Tomasz Cibulla and Wojciech Drożdż of ZBS Studios in Belgium, I dig this joint. Enjoy. Chea!

theOTHERSIDE "It Ain't But It Is" x "Gee Whiz"

Keno and Sauce Fonda are two of my favorite dudes. Talented and cool as shit. In addition to being a part of the Sacramento based T.U.S. (The Usual Suspect) with Chuuwee, J.GOOD, Konkwest, Haz Solo (Milwaukee), Jonathan Lowell (Boston), Drian, Tellapath, and Tone Da Under Dog - the duo make up theOTHERSIDE. Keno provides the rhymes and Sauce provides the soulful beats. With a few solo offerings under their belt, recently they decided to drop two previously unreleased bombs on the Internets. "It Ain't But It Is" and "Gee Whiz" are both dope cuts. Two tracks without a home on a project, they now find a place on these pages. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

Gee Wiz "Sinsored"

I don't rhyme but I enjoy the hell out of beat tapes. I really do. Recently the homie Gee Wiz hit me with a preview of his latest Sinsored. I found my head nodding and enjoying the brief preview. Yesterday, he unleashed the full project. "Cheeseburger & a Coke" is definitely still my shit but the full project features a gang of other fresh beats too. Gee Wiz is a pretty talented producer and has been featured on the site a few times, most recently as the producer behind Signif's latest offering. The dude is fresh. Dig in to Sinsored and enjoy.

Interview: Stalley x TheComeUpShow.com

It’s the summer time and if you have a car you most likely are listening to music that BUMPS in the trunk. There is a good chance if you are ’stunting’ in your car you aren’t listening to the most lyrical song. That’s where Stalley comes in, Intelligent Trunk Music was the concept behind his last EP and he has turned into a whole genre. Find out more about Intelligent Trunk Music by watching the interview.

Hip-Hop Breakfast Ep 64

Another crazy work week followed by a weekend with a road trip down to a wedding Saturday in Pittsburgh, then the ride back Sunday so I could go to work Monday. Pittsburgh was cool. And it was a nice ceremony for a beautiful couple but more importantly they had an open bar all night. Yeah, perfecto. Ha!

On a serious note, congrats to two beautiful people and their new life together. While at the wedding the DJ tore the place down with a little bit of old and new music (yes, they played the chopped and screwed version of the Electric Slide). Early on he tossed on some Lenny Williams too, so I had to lead off with that joint today. Cause I Love You is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time.

Also featured this week is songstress Natasha Ramos' version of Marvin's Room. Yeah, I know the last thing we need is another cover but her version is a favorite, so enjoy that. The rest of the playlist kind of fell in line behind that. As always, I hope this ep helps kick start your week. Enjoy. Chea!

01. Lenny Williams - Cause I Love You
02. Natasha Ramos - Marvin's Room (Remix)
03. J. Cole - How High
04. Trek Life - So Supreme (MarvWon Remix)
05. Hassaan Mackey & Apollo Brown - Something
