Gee Wiz "Sinsored"

I don't rhyme but I enjoy the hell out of beat tapes. I really do. Recently the homie Gee Wiz hit me with a preview of his latest Sinsored. I found my head nodding and enjoying the brief preview. Yesterday, he unleashed the full project. "Cheeseburger & a Coke" is definitely still my shit but the full project features a gang of other fresh beats too. Gee Wiz is a pretty talented producer and has been featured on the site a few times, most recently as the producer behind Signif's latest offering. The dude is fresh. Dig in to Sinsored and enjoy.

Interview: Stalley x TheComeUpShow.com

It’s the summer time and if you have a car you most likely are listening to music that BUMPS in the trunk. There is a good chance if you are ’stunting’ in your car you aren’t listening to the most lyrical song. That’s where Stalley comes in, Intelligent Trunk Music was the concept behind his last EP and he has turned into a whole genre. Find out more about Intelligent Trunk Music by watching the interview.

Hip-Hop Breakfast Ep 64

Another crazy work week followed by a weekend with a road trip down to a wedding Saturday in Pittsburgh, then the ride back Sunday so I could go to work Monday. Pittsburgh was cool. And it was a nice ceremony for a beautiful couple but more importantly they had an open bar all night. Yeah, perfecto. Ha!

On a serious note, congrats to two beautiful people and their new life together. While at the wedding the DJ tore the place down with a little bit of old and new music (yes, they played the chopped and screwed version of the Electric Slide). Early on he tossed on some Lenny Williams too, so I had to lead off with that joint today. Cause I Love You is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time.

Also featured this week is songstress Natasha Ramos' version of Marvin's Room. Yeah, I know the last thing we need is another cover but her version is a favorite, so enjoy that. The rest of the playlist kind of fell in line behind that. As always, I hope this ep helps kick start your week. Enjoy. Chea!

01. Lenny Williams - Cause I Love You
02. Natasha Ramos - Marvin's Room (Remix)
03. J. Cole - How High
04. Trek Life - So Supreme (MarvWon Remix)
05. Hassaan Mackey & Apollo Brown - Something

Chels "HIIIPOWER (Chels' Account)"

Chels is a New Orleans newcomer with something to say. The 19 year old female emcee has this raw energy and an old soul considering the depth of her rhymes. I dig it. She's currently working on a new project and this is just a taste from that project. Enjoy.

Big K.R.I.T. x Yelawolf "Happy Birthday Hip-Hop"

I'm a Big K.R.I.T. fan. But you should already know that. I'm also a Yelawolf fan. They're both dope emcees. Last year they announced they were cooking up a joint project and while we haven't heard much movement on that front, they released "Happy Birthday Hip-Hop" earlier today. Apparently the track will be featured on K.R.I.T.'s upcoming Last King 2: God’s Machine ahead of his Live From The Underground project due out September 27th. This joint is solid. Enjoy. Chea!
