Watch The Photoshop

JanyƩ? Ha! This is usually one of those things reserved for the world of tumblr but I had to post up this joint here too. Why? Simply because it's hilarious. And slightly haunting. Whoever created this joint, I salute your photoshop game.

Hassaan Mackey & Apollo Brown "Something"

Apollo Brown is a solid producer. And Hassaan Mackey is a dope emcee. The two partnering for a project is simply incredible. Not convinced? Well, check out "Something", their new single from their joint project Daily Bread. If you dig it, cop it. Chea!

Natasha Ramos "Marvin's Room"

While Marvin's Room might be over occupancy, Natasha Ramos makes room with her version of the Drake track that has seen a few (read: a lot) of covers/remixes. But of all of the joints I've heard, this is by far one of my favorites from the multi-talented songstress. She takes it from a different angle and I dig that. So, put that "not another Marvin's Room" thought to the side and hit play. You'll enjoy this joint. Chea!

e.d.g.e. "Roses & Razors" (prod. by Sinitus Tempo)

While I was at a 3 year old's birthday party this past weekend, the homie e.d.g.e. was busy pushing a new track. As I play catch up, I'm posting up his latest with producer Sinitus Tempo on the boards. In the new cut, Tempo samples the Japanese anime "Honey & Clover". Dope. As e.d.g.e. says, "the grind doesn't stop." Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

On Lauryn Hill and Shaking the Vending Machine

A week ago Jay Smooth took to facebook and said:
“The more I see people posting variations of “Lauryn gave birth to another baby? She needs to give birth to another album!” the more I hope she keeps raising her kids and never makes another album for your greedy selfish asses.”
I jumped in and offered up:
“Being a parent use to be a respectable career choice. Remember? Ha! And with six, they definitely need her attention. Besides, the wolves will never be satisfied if she doesn’t deliver another Miseducation and the chances are, she won’t. And that’s fine with me … *cues Everything Is Everything*”
Today Jay drops the video. Another great point from a dope dude. Enjoy.

Interview: Miss Special x The Cool Kids

Last night I had the opportunity to interview The Cool Kids before their show in Oakland at The New Parish. We spoke about myspace, their new album "When Fish Ride Bicycles", working with The Neptunes and how they chose the features on the album. We also talked about their favorite Ghostface albums, their futuristic deal with Green Label Sound and their favorite commercial that their music has been in.

Skyzoo "Boat Check In ('Otis' Freestyle)"

Jay-Z and Kanye dropped Otis. And then everyone else dropped Otis remixes, disses and freestyles. Great. But that's the Internets for you. We're back on that Lil Wayne A Milli or Drake's Best I Ever Had steez. At least 20 or more Otis versions have hit my inbox. To be frank, those all sucked. In my opinion and allegedly of course.

But there are always bright spots. Always, even though sometimes they get lost in the over-saturation.

The two joints I've liked the most are the ones I've bumped in to on the Internets. One of those versions is from Skyzoo (the other is Styles P and Jadakiss). He's about that spit dope bars life. I can dig it. And I can definitely dig what he did with "Boat Check In". In the over-saturated world of internet hits, Skyzoo delivers. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!
