Jesse Boykins III "Back Home (Mermaids & Dragons)"
I've put a lot of Hip-Hop on the blog today. So, let me slow it down a bit with the smooth sounds of the multi-talented Jesse Boykins III. Boykins provides the Gold Panda produced joint from his upcoming Way Of A Wayfarer EP, due out June 30. Solid track. Enjoy.

INSIDE THE MUSIC: Rapsody "Thank H.E.R. Now"
Last week North Carolina's own and Jamla's first lady Rapsody released a pretty impressive project. Through DJBooth.net she dropped Thank H.E.R. Now for the generous price of free.99. You almost feel guilty getting it for free. So, maybe you should be thanking her now and later.
But as Rapsody explains, it's about more than just the money. It's ultimately about the music. Wow, what a nobel idea. I've been a fan of her music since her days with Kooley High. She's a pretty dope emcee and her latest is just another example of the quality she's putting out there.
After the release of the new project I reached out to her for a Q&A. We talked about being a female emcee, the music and more. Check it out after the jump.

Artist Profile: The Arrival of Maal Himself
This is a moment I've been waiting for.
I'm sure there are many in Milwaukee that would echo my sentiments. Maal Himself has stepped out as a solo artist and he's doing so on his own terms, as he delivers up his first track from his upcoming project.
I've been following Maal since I first stumbled on the MKE Hip-Hop scene and I've been a fan of his work. Part of the dope crew Misen Lync, this will be his first solo offering since becoming active in the scene three years ago in July. I'm sure I'm not the only person excited about the forthcoming project.
I connected with Maal to talk about stepping out as a solo artist and what we can expect with the new project. Peep the Q&A after the jump.

Those AUTOMatic boys are at it again. The Milwaukee duo drop off their new track featuring Sarah Fierek and with spoken word by Ms. Cream. I know you've had a case of the HBs (heartbreak) at some point in life. I can relate. Don't act like you can't. Ha!
This joint was recently released for free download in collaboration with Brussels, Belgium site/radio station, Laid Back Radio. Those AUTOMatic boys are worldwide now. Ha! Enjoy the smooth cut. Chea!

Imagine That "Still Picture" feat. Chaundon
Get the grill out and gear up for some cookout type music. Imagine That (MC eNVy and Mike Love) have teamed up with Chaundon to deliver a track that would definitely be on my grilling season soundtrack. Cool laid back cut with some quality production and rhymes. Working on a new project, the duo dropped the self produced track a little while back but it just hit my inbox earlier today. It's perfect for summer. Enjoy. Chea!

Troy Ave "Dirty Martini" feat. Prodigy (of Mobb Deep)
"I punch niggas in the face but I don't punch clocks."
This new Troy Ave joint featuring Mobb Deep's Prodigy is serious. According to Troy Ave his upcoming Bricks In My Backpack 2: Powder To The People is 99.5% done. Waiting on some final mixes and a few features, he aims with the new project to deliver his music at a whole new level. Enjoy "Dirty Martini" in the meantime.

Surock "Blasphemy" feat. Pro'Verb, K-Beta, yU (of Diamond District), Lyriciss, & RAtheMC
Considered some of the DMV's elite, Surock rounded up the five to be featured on what was going to be a bonus cut on his Suck My Disk beat tape but apparently time didn't allow for it's inclusion. Yesterday both RAtheMC and the homie Lyriciss hit me up with the track. This jawn is serious. Video soon come. Enjoy the track in the meantime. Chea!

WORD IS BOND VS.: KnowSum Vs. SigNif "Let’s Figure It Out"
I know SigNif. You know SigNif. As a regular on the blog, she always delivers up great music. Knowsum, producer, however I've never heard of. But after hearing this track I'd like to hear more from the 18 year old producer. Yes, 18. The kid is dope. TheWordIsBond linked up with both of them and put out this banger. Gotdamn. The marriage of the beat and Sig's rhyme is perfect. Hit play and enjoy. Or don't and be sorry. The choice is yours. Ha!

How The BET Awards Changed My Life
"In 2011, every road eventually leads to that face."

Interview: Sean Price x TheComeUpShow.com
If you know who Sean Price is then you know he is the type that doesn’t care too much about what other people think. Most artists would love their music to be embraced by all and to get play on commercial stations. Sean Price is the opposite, he tells me in our interview how people actually started caring when it didn’t matter to him that much.(via Chedo, www.thecomeupshow.com)
Sean Price also talks about the Random Axe project with Black Milk and Guilty Simpson, and possibility retiring? Click play to watch the full interview with Sean Price.
