Jones Andrews "Tunnel Vision (All Black Everything)"

"I burn it down like Rosewood, no Ving Rhames..."

Jones Andrews blacks out on this track. Pun intended. Enjoy. Chea!
Recently I was going through an extreme case of writer’s block. I listened to other artists that inspire me, watched hip hop documentaries and even just threw on beats and rapped until I turned blue…lol and nothing seemed to work. Then I decided that I need to refocus and just have fun again with my music and not force it, and just let it come to me. Since that occurred I have been grinding harder than ever, doing shows, collabs and just going in. It’s like I have tunnel vision right now I’m so focused on my music that I can’t see anything else around me, so with that being said I present to you “Tunnel Vision(All Black Everything)”. It’s me flexing my lyrical muscle and going in over one of my favorite beats as of late, Lupe Fiasco’s “All Black Everything.”

Check It Out: Alicia James "Seven"

Last night I randomly came across Alicia James' video for the song "Seven." Alicia is a native of Houston Texas whose youtube page features mostly natural hair videos and stories about her life. At the beginning of all of her videos is this smooth neo-soul/R&B joint, and I have been curious to know who was singing the song featured. I finally realized it was her. Her voice is beautiful. The song has such a positive message. How could I not share this hidden gem with everyone else?

Download ... Vikter Duplaix - "For Players Only" (Free Mixtape) (@Duplaix)

This joint came out earlier this month, or at least I downloaded it earlier this month. I listened to it maybe twice before hitting play tonight once again. I've heard of Vikter Duplaix before so I'm not considerably new to his music. I think the first time I heard of Vikter was a few years ago when I was driving around in my new car (new to me, haha) and his song popped up on the satellite radio. Listening to satellite radio gave me some hope early on and helped me find artists new to me which I then searched for online.

Here I am on Twitter one day and I notice that he posts a link to a mixtape he recently released. As busy as I am, I don't know how I was able to catch it. Maybe he kept posting the tweet randomly, not sure. So I download it and voilĂ ! This mixtape is intriguingly chill, in my own words obviously. Haha. You'll just have to listen to it yourself but it's a different kind of dope. Those who really know me know that I'm not confined to the two genres of Hip-Hop and R&B. I like to let my ears travel other places as well and I've been satisfied as to where it brought me on this mixtape.

For Players Only is a great, energetic, soul touching, groove inducing mixtape that's sure to please a lot of fans of The Mad Bloggers as well as others. And to top it all off, it's absolutely free. So check out a few tracks and download it after the listens!

It's finally here.

e.d.g.e. (four lower cases, four periods) is one of those dudes I wanna see win. Ever since we connected online, I've appreciated his music and the friendship we've established. e.d.g.e. is a good dude.

Now the wait is over. With production from Shane Eli, Moka Only, Ritchcraft, Stewie Vuiton and more, All Flow Everything is solid. Below are two of my favorite cuts from the I.G.O.D. x DJ Koast x the9elements.com presented jawn. If you dig 'em, download the full project.

What EMS Is Watching ... @McLoughlinMusic - Stereo Hearts

Characteristically awesome.

Over in the TMB inbox, we received an email from Collin telling us about his latest video. "Stereo Hearts" showcases a mash up of "Lazy Songs" by Bruno Mars, "Just Can't Get Enough" by Black Eyed Peas and the feature title "Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heroes. Besides being a talented singer, Collin also crafted the entire arrangement and played all of the instruments in this recent addition to his repertoire.

I think what I love most about this version of "Stereo Hearts" is that you catch yourself smiling by the time you get to the end of the song. Plus, the video is simple and elegant. It lets us see a raw, talented musician without any unnecessary distractions so many of these videos have today. Again, Collin, well done.

Also, don't forget! If you want to be in the know about what Mr. McLoughlin is up to, check out his Facebook page and click 'like': facebook.com/CollinMcLoughlinMusic.

Enjoy, people!

What I'm Watching ... Vakill - "Armor Of God"

No b.s. directed in this video. What you get is Vakill allowing you to soak in his lyrics and with Jake One producing this track, the task isn't a difficult one.

This latest video from Vakill, "Armor Of God," is the title track from Vakill's forthcoming LP, which now has a new release date of 7-5-2011.
