Unique Squared to Produce The First Official BHF Mixtape
The good folks behind the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, Brooklyn Bodega, announced some exciting news today. Already slated to be a dope event with live performances from Q-Tip, Homeboy Sandman, Eternia, Random Axe and more, BHF has added an exciting addition to it's main day performances with Unique Squared, which will provide their Mobile Studio on-site for the BHF this year. I'll let Brooklyn Bodega take the announcement from here:
"Brooklyn Bodega is proud to announce a brand new partnership with online Pro Audio and DJ equipment store Unique Squared that is providing a Mobile Studio on-site for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (BHF) on Saturday, July 16th.Even more exciting is the BHF's invitation to producers.
"One thing Brooklyn Bodega has always wanted to do is produce a post-Festival mixtape with all its performing artists. What better way to capture the overall feel of the Festival, than with a project recorded on-site?" said Kelli Jones, Business Development Manager, Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. "With the capabilities of the Unique Squared Mobile Studio bus, we are able to produce a mixtape featuring the fans favorite BHF '11 artists."
Parked on-site, Festival artists will have the opportunity to record material in the Unique Squared Mobile Studio for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival X Unique Squared mixtape that will be released post-festival. The Mobile Studio will also feature a rotating roster of live DJ sets for attendees to enjoy at the bus throughout the day.
"Unique Squared and the Mobile Studio team are extremely excited to be in partnership with The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. Our previous mixtape efforts recorded during A3C 2010 and SXSW 2011 have been well received by music lovers and the industry as a whole," said Soul Wallace, Director, Unique Squared Mobile Studio. "We are looking forward to bringing 'Mobile Music' to Brooklyn.""

I've been a fan of ¡MAYDAY!'s for some time now. They're not your usual sounding Hip-Hop group. Not at all. And that's dope either way. Here's the latest track which features a legend in Del The Funky Homosapien. Dope cut. Check it.
While currently on Tech N9ne’s All 6′s & 7′s tour, ¡MAYDAY! still found time to drop this new joint feat. the legendary Del. Produced by Plex Luthor (of ¡MAYDAY!).

What I'm Watching: Soul Khan "Speeding Bullets"
I've come to expect nothing but quality from the Brown Bag AllStars, whether as a collective or as individuals. From Soul Khan, I've come to expect nothing but incredible word play and the occasional laugh. His latest video for one of my favorite tracks off his recent project, Acknowledgement, delivers both the word play and laughs I look forward to. Featuring Akie Bermiss, the B Robinson (Hyer Ground Productions) directed video, provides the perfect visuals for "Speeding Bullets." Enjoy. Chea!

TMB Presents: "Otisis" Jinesis Produced & Otis Redding Sampled Beat Tape
Two fresh singles. And now we're here. I'm proud to present Otisis.
Folks that know me well, know how much I enjoy the work of Otis Redding. The passion in his voice, and the heartfelt feelings behind his music have long resonated with me. And to think the body of work he created was done in such a short period of time considering his untimely death. But his music lives on.
Folks who follow the blog also know how much I've come to respect the work of New York producer Jinesis. His music has been featured on the site numerous times, whether as an individual post or by way of a production credit for another artist. The dude is talented.
During one of our online convos about music I pitched Jinesis the idea of sampling Otis Redding tracks. I won't take credit for the creation of this incredible project, I just planted the seed. Jinesis truly bought this project to life and made it his own. He hit the ground running, taking inspiration from every day life and applying it to the beat creation on Otisis. You can feel his passion in the production.
I'm proud and very pleased with what he created. Jinesis is a very talented producer and Otisis is some of his finest work. Hit play and vibe out to the smooth samplings of Otis Redding as interpreted by Jinesis. Enjoy. Chea!
