Logic and Raze "Thinking Out Loud"

Damn. This track is serious. Logic and Raze deliver up another incredible track off of their upcoming yet to be named project. "Thinking Out Loud" is dope, produced by Raze and features Mike Carpe on guitar. I'm already on my fifth play. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching: ELZHI "It Aint Hard To Tell"

I know I can't be the only one still listening to ELZHI's ELmatic. While in a sleepy haze from working four 2am-10:30am shifts in a row, I stumbled onto the new vid from ELZHI for "It Ain't Hard to Tell." Will Sessions on the track and Michael Castelaz behind the lens. Dope video. Enjoy.

What I'm Watching: RoQ'y TyRaiD "Break Shit"

The calmest part of the song is in the first 38 seconds, after that you're ready (and encouraged) to break shit. After a brief hiatus following the completion of his dope and sometimes controversial The Podium Series, he returns in a major way with the Derrick Reed of Spicy Fud directed video."Break Shit" is a solid track and the visuals are just as fresh. Enjoy. Chea!

Hip-Hop Breakfast Ep 57

You're probably looking at the tracks like "damn Q, you on some emo shit". At a second glance you're like, "damn, someone broke this negro's heart over the weekend and now he's pouring it out on a Monday morning." Ha! None of the above folks. While looking through my itunes creating this ep, these joints kinda put themselves together. After listening to Jinesis featuring ArinMaya throughout the weekend, the playlist was built from there. At one point, I was gonna switch up after the Estelle track but I started listening to Break You Off and decided to sneak that in. Then that bought me to Cee-Lo's track from his Stray Bullets mixtape, which then made me think of the Cookin Soul x Chuuwee track. That led me to Frank Ocean and after the visuals Tyler, The Creator dropped, She was the perfect follow up to Love Crimes. Then I thought, why not end it all with a track from D. Julien's Ready for Tomorrow project. Just vibe with a brother this morning and enjoy. Chea!

01. Jinesis feat. ArinMaya - Love Hangover
02. Estelle feat. Rick Ross - Break My Heart
03. The Roots - Break You Off
04. Cee Lo Green feat. ME & Lonan the Destroyer - I'll Kill Her
05. Cookin Soul x Chuuwee - So In Love
06. Frank Ocean - Love Crimes
07. Tyler, The Creator feat. Frank Ocean - She
08. D. Julien feat. Tolu - Over You

What EMS Is Watching ... @SidSriram - "We All Try" (originally by Frank Ocean)

Well, folks... this is one of those times when I can't offer a full blown analysis about an artist or the song he sings. This is just something that you'll have to listen to and experience. I haven't been speechless in a long time. "Talented" doesn't quite cover it.

Shouts out to OC and Britt Bratt for this one. Enjoy.

It's 80, sunny, Friday and I've got $8 burning a hole in my pocket. Can't beat that, huh? Ha! Well, here's something extra to kick your weekend off. A cool summer joint from Ciph Boogie off his upcoming project, Sometime in New York City Vol 1, due out at the end of June. I dig the Phil Geston featured track. I hope you do too. Enjoy. Chea!

Friday's Five Random Questions with @UCanCallMeLA

L.A. is having one of the best weeks ever. Late Sunday she released the killer track “Spitting Out Blood”, which has been making its waves on the internet including a DJBooth.net debut. Then today she locked up one of the two spots on the upcoming Show & Prove showcase presented by The Brooklyn Bodega and 2DopeBoyz.com to compete for a spot on this year’s Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival in July. And to think, she’s only been rapping for 11 months, having just released her first project in January, with a follow up due out July. The girl is dope, and her music embodies such a raw uncut energy.

Anyway, this week she decided to take the challenge. Check out how L.A. answered five random questions after the jump.

Elle Maxwell "Ben Franklin"

I dig Elle Maxwell. But that shouldn't really be a surprise if you've been checking the blog for any considerable amount of time. She's been featured on the site since I first stumbled across her music last year. Back then she was going by Lola Maxwell but through the name change she still creates dope music with fresh concepts. I did a piece about her over at RefinedHype, where we talked about her music and more. Elle is good peoples. And she warned that once school was over she was going all in on the music. "After I cross the stage in May I plan to take my career from 35mph to 80mph," she said. Look at your calendar, May has come and gone. Music beware. Check out the new track from her upcoming Rush Our. Enjoy. Chea!
