What I'm Watching: Skyzoo "The Definitive Prayer"
I wrote about this track on Tuesday over at DJBooth.net. Once I hit play, I was captivated by both the beat and rhymes. No hook. No chorus. Just straight bars. "The Definitive Prayer" is full of incredible word play that will captivate listeners. In fact, you'll wanna listen to this joint a few times. Like I wrote over at the Booth, "The Definitive Prayer is like a hip-hop version of the movie Sixth Sense; at the end you’ll go back to the beginning to peep what you missed." Enjoy. Chea!

Andy Suzuki & The Method "All of the Lights" (Kanye West cover)
Andy (lead vocals and piano) and Kozza (percussion) are good friends, who make good music. Both are funny as hell too. I once bumped into the duo by chance at Union Station in Washington DC and it was straight comedy for over an hour as we talked about a gang of random subjects. Recently at another sold out show at Joe's Pub in NYC, they took their own creative spin (with the help of the rest of Andy's band, The Method) on the popular Kanye West track, "All of the Lights." I dig their version. Enjoy. Chea!

INTRODUCING THE LIVINGROOM SESSIONS from Creative Control on Vimeo.
I definitely dig the concept of the revitalized webseries, The Livingroom Sessions. The Livingroom Sessions premieres Wednesday, June 15th on www.creativecontrol.tv. In the meantime, peep the trailer.

Brown Bag AllStars "See Again" (prod by marink)
I'm pretty sure these guys don't take a break. Yesterday, Brown Bag AllStars dropped off the last leak from their upcoming project, Brown Bag Season Vol. 1, due out Tuesday May 17th via DJ Brace's Nostomania Records. When this joint hit my inbox, I was in the process of putting together the mix for The Mad Bloggers Show. Without even hearing the track and without hesitation, I put it right into the line-up because I know the quality of music coming from the Brown Bag AllStars camp. "See Again", produced by Marink is another winner from one of the hardest working crews out of NYC right now. Hit play, enjoy and look out for Brown Bag Season Vol. 1. Chea!

Elzhi with Will Sessions "Elmatic"
At this point in the day, I hope you've downloaded this joint already. But, if you haven't you're welcome in advance.
In the midst of a few other projects dropping today, Detroit's own Elzhi dropped Elmatic over at XXL. In what is a tribute to Nas' classic illmatic, Elzhi recreates the music with the help of Will Sessions, giving it a unique twist. The project is dope and creative and free (you can however order a physical copy). So heads with excuses on why they aren't downloading this are bitches. Yeah, that's right. Ha! Enjoy. Chea!

Elle Maxwell "Love Crimes'
The DMV emcee Elle Maxwell is back with some new music over the Frank Ocean "Love Crimes" track. Featured on her upcoming RUSHour, Elle jumps right in with "in your sleep, I cut you with a knife ... I didn't even care to think about it twice" in her opening line, and the track takes off from there. Yeah, I wouldn't cross Elle in a relationship. Ha! Enjoy "Love Crimes." Chea!

TMB's Throwback Video of the Day ... Shalamar - "A Night To Remember"
We're back with another week in throwbacks and this is one of my favorites! I've forcefully thrown myself out of the 90s and made it to the 80s this time. Y'all know I was stuck in 1996 for a very long while. If you want to just chill out and groove, "A Night To Remember" is definitely a great song to listen to. Even if it is a Monday. So enjoy Shalamar's 1982 hit off of their album Friends.
