Audible Doctor Feat. June Haze "Church Night Remix"

Not sure if you remember a while back when The Audible Doctor released The Spread EP as a free instrumental and asked for folks to record over those beats and send them his way. Well, next Thursday, May 12th he'll be releasing the Vocal Version of The Spread with the winning cuts, along with two bonus remixes. Today, the homie J57 sent over one of those bonus cuts. Check out "Church Night Remix" featuring June Haze. This joint is dope. Can't wait for the rest of the project. Enjoy. Chea!

What I'm Watching (5/5/11): Elzhi and Vakill

It's Thursday and I offer up two dope videos that I caught via email. Today, you get a solid offering from Elzhi and Vakill. Enjoy.

Vakill offers up a video with a lot of twists for his Panik produced track "I Came 4 U", off the upcoming Armor of God, due out 6/14. Enjoy the Sense Hernandez directed video.

Folks are definitely looking forward to the new Elzhi project, the elmatic (a free album that serves as a tribute to Nas' Illmatic), due out May 10. I'm one of those people. Elzhi offers up the Gerard Victor video for "Halftime" featuring Will Sessions, to hold us over. Enjoy.

Check It (5/5/11): Has-Lo, MegaEarth65ive, Chuuwee, D. Julien, Mad Flows and Wombaticus Rex

I receive my fair share of loose tracks every week via email. The ones that aren't deleted, find their way onto either Hip-Hop Breakfast or The Mad Bloggers Show or my tumblr page. And every so often, I share those tracks here. Here are a few tracks from the inbox (and a few I've bumped into on the Internets). Today's offering comes from Has-Lo, MegaEarth65ive, Chuuwee, D. Julien, Mad Flows and Wombaticus Rex. Enjoy the music. And if you dig, support the artist.

Has-Lo's In Case I Don't Make It is a pretty fresh project. "Forgotten Styles" is his final single off the project.  This jawn is dope. You can expect a few videos coming soon from the Philly emcee/producer, so be on the look out for those but in the meantime enjoy this track.

The folks over at Uncommon Records linked up with Isolated Wax to bring you the very political driven cut from MegaEarth65ive (Agartha Audio and Passive 65ive) featuring Adam Warlock. The press release reads, "the track breaks down some of the history behind the current actions by the US & NATO in Libya and the roots and lineage of an endless cycle of wars in the Middle East and Asia." Like I said, very political. Enjoy.

The Sacramento homie Chuuwee offers up a new cut from the upcoming project with Lee Bannon, Fever Hunt, due out this fall. Enjoy "It Was Great Here" in the meantime.

I've seen D. Julien's name floating around here and there and peeped a few of his features. Yesterday he hit me with his Clyde Strokes produced track "World." While it won't be on his Ready for Tomorrow project (which drops on May 31), it's a pretty solid cut. Enjoy.

Another one of Sacramento's finest, Mad Flows, offers up the title cut, "Classick", from his upcoming project. With production from Lee Bannon, this is definitely a dope track. Look out for Classick dropping soon. I'm looking forward to it too.

I could write an intro to this Wombaticus Rex track but the homie Humpasaur Jones explains it much better. "So this here is an old track that got stuck in the backwoods of Vermont for years. Back when I was a genuine hick rapper doing shows and growing weed up by the Canadian border, I was part of a group called Wombaticus Rex." Yeah, hilarious. Wombaticus Rex are doing a reunion tour throughout the whole month of May. Enjoy this track because I definitely do. Chea!

ScholarMan "A Tree Grows"

One track, eight versions. Talk about a maxi-single. Ha! The homie ScholarMan links up with some of his favorite producers to present "A Tree Grows." Damn, it's pretty tough to pick a favorite because each give off such a dope vibe. Hit play, find your favorite and then hit up the comment section down below. Enjoy. Chea!
"A Tree Grows is a song that I have been slowly crafting for the past few months - probably the longest I have spent on one joint. When I began writing it, the goal was a song with hooks but I couldnt find a good stopping point between verses so it turned into one long work. After getting the verse finished, I couldnt find/make the "perfect" beat for it...me raising the bar on me I guess. So I decided to record multiple versions, using some beats from my favorite producers as well as my own. Pick your favorite.. peace." -ScholarMan

Scheme & DJ Scend - Two Turntables and a Mic: Dedication to L.E.S.

The homie Scheme is dope. He linked up with DJ Scend for a pretty dope series called "Two Turntables and a Mic." I dig it.

They lay out a pretty simple mission with the series. "This is a straight to the point concept. Dope beats, a mic, and two turntables. Scheme and DJ Scend wanted to show respect to the great artists that have inspired them through out the years and wanted to bring to the forefront the DJ and the MC once again. They want to keep this series as raw and straight forward as possible. No gimmicks. Just rhymes and beats."

They start off their Molemen Records x SRNC x RubyHornet.com presented series with a dedication to L.E.S. Filmed by Stefan Klapko, the series will definitely be something to keep your eye on. Enjoy. Chea!

Orie "Twenty-20"

This project has been sitting in the inbox for a few days (eight to be exact). I finally hit play on it last night. After hearing two tracks, I downloaded it. Today I finally gave it a solid listen. The joint is dope. Orie, who provides all of his beats (except on “The Voices” and "The Lou"), delivers on Twenty-20. Below, check out one of my favorite cuts and if you dig it, head over to DJBooth.net to preview the rest and download it if you're so inclined. Chea!
