TMB's Throwback Video of the Day ... Tina Turner - "Private Dancer"

So we're back with Thursday's Throwback of this week. I finally took it out of that great year for music, 1996, and took it to the 80s. Songs tend to just pop into my head and this seemed like a fantastic next to last song for this week's series. Tina Turner is a fabulous woman. Her raspy, sultry voice will be forever recognizable and who wouldn't want those legs?! Off her 5th solo album, here is Tina Turner's "Private Dancer" off of the 1984 album with the same name. Enjoy!

TMB's Throwback Video of the Day ... DJ Kool feat. Biz Markie & Doug E. Fresh - "Let Me Clear My Throat"

My apologies for rolling these out so late! I let my week get away from me, so I'll be posting Wednesday through Friday's TMB's Throwback Video of the Day throughout today... Now back to business.

If you have not jammed to this at somebody's house party, club, etc... you're completely losing. As the young kids say these days, "hustlin' backwards." Ha! Apparently I CANNOT get out of the year of 1996, so you'll have to forgive me. DJ Kool's most popular song to date, this is 1996 hit "Let Me Clear My Throat" featuring Doug E. Fresh and Biz Markie. Now get out of your emeffin' seat and get to jiggin'!

DJ Multiple Sex Partners "Sweaty Summer"

I dig it. I would say more but this sums it up nicely - "PLEASE, DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM AT ALL, UNLESS YOU ARE ON DRUGS, AND SURROUNDED BY THE OPPOSITE SEX. OTHERWISE YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND THIS COMPOSITION."

Ha! Enjoy.

Friday's Five Random Questions with Geeter

The first time I heard Geeter rhyme, I was immediately impressed. He's currently working on an EP with Halifax producer Ritchcraft. He has that type of sound that needs to be heard. As Ritchcraft so perfectly put it, "he has a powerful voice and speaks on real issues." I'm definitely looking forward to the music.

Anyway, this week he decided to take the challenge. And we decided to do it a little differently, with the assist from Ritchcraft, Geeter answered five random questions on video. Enjoy.

Hometown: Montgomery, Alabama
Current City: Halifax, N.S., canada
How long have you been doing music: 11 years
Discography: none
Label: none
Describe your music in five words or less: Real life

Soul Khan "Acknowledgement" EP

I purchase my fair share of music. Most of my purchases are for independent music too. I try to support when and where I can, considering I tell a lot of my readers to do it. There are a handful of folks however that can get me to cop an album based off of their music reputation alone. Soul Khan is one of those guys. After downloading for free.99 his last project, Soul Like Khan, I didn't hesitate to purchase his latest DeeJay Element produced offering, Acknowledgement. I listened to about 20 seconds of the first track and knew it was a must buy. There's been a lot of Brown Bag AllStar features this week and Acknowledgement was one that I was looking forward to. With four main tracks, two bonuses and just one feature, Acknowledgement is a fine follow up to Soul Like Khan and should further establish Soul Khan as more than just a battle rapper. The project is a winner. Preview if you must but I highly recommend purchasing this project. Enjoy. Chea!
