I've been hearing bits and pieces of this Gee Wiz produced Significant Wizdom EP over the last few months and I'm happy to finally hear it in it's complete form and share it with all of you. Gee Wiz does his gotdamn thing on the production and SigNif delivers more of an aggressive flow on the new project. Having worked together on SigNif's The Transition, the duo take that chemistry to deliver eight dope tracks. There should be no doubt that SigNif is formidable emcee after hearing this project. I've been rocking to this Shane Eli project for a few days and then it dawned on me that I hadn't posted it up. Oops. Ha!
Shane has been featured on the blog a few times with his work, as well as a features with other TMB favorites. His new project, I Can Do Better is dope. Having heard a few of the tracks prior to it's release I knew the project would be quality. Ya'll know I don't usually endorse projects over 15 tracks but Shane's 19 (which includes a few intros) on I Can Do Better is worth the listen.

Jessica Kaya has been featured on the blog a few times. Her sister, who happens to be one of my favorite rappers, Eternia put me on to her music. I haven't been disappointed. Jessica has a beautiful voice and in her project Imperfections she delivers what she calls "a collection of raw, unmixed demo's & draft songs, recorded at home and released in their unfinished & imperfect form." This project has shown up in my inbox a few times. Vulkan the Krusader comes with some co-signs from a few folks I respect musically on the underground scene but my opinion has never been based on a co-sign. Ha!
Anyway, I finally got around to listening to the project. It's cool. I dig most of it but I wish it was less than 22 tracks because it took me a little while to process so much music. There's definitely quality here though. But you tell me what you think down in the comment section.
15 years. That's how long it has been since Maxwell's first albumbecame available to us all. What a journey! And oh how we missed him during that 8 year stint of absence from the music scene. I know I sure did. Maxwell is the King of Neo-soul. I dare anyone to say otherwise. Everything about this man is beautiful! The vocals, the lyrics, pre-hair cut. Everything. And besides, how on Earth would any of us get these babies here without him? Ha! (Side Note: I am not responsible for any children made during the listening of this song). I've experienced nothing but greatness from Maxwell even with only 4 albums under his belt; and I hope he continues to bless us with his music in the years to come. Off the 1996 debut album Urban Hang Suite "...Til the Cops Come Knockin'" is definitely something you can chill to, have that glass of red wine and cap off your evening. I encourage you all to do just that. Enjoy the song and the rest of your Friday night.
