Check It ... Jean Grae "You Don't Like It (So What)"

"Your favorite rappers favorite rapper, nigga handle it ..."

Jean Grae doesn't give a fuck. I'm pretty sure everyone who has posted this joint has said something similar in the beginning, middle or end. But it's true, she doesn't. And we all know it. So, "You Don't Like It (So What)" is a very fitting release for Jean off her upcoming Cookies or Comas project. It's especially fitting after the controversy surrounding her track with Lil B featuring Phonte that hit the net yesterday. I guess it's like Jean says, if you don't like it, so what. Ha! And the outro on this track? Comedy! Enjoy. Chea!

@MTVRapFix x @Yelawolf x @ScholarMan

So, I'm tuned into MTV RapFix Live this afternoon, and Yelawolf, one of my favorite heads making music right now was the featured guest. So, Sway (the host of the Internet-based show) gets to a segment, Get In The Game, where they feature an unknown artist and the featured guest offers them some advice.

Most of the time it's someone I've never heard of. And then I hear the name ScholarMan. If you've been following the blog long enough, you know that I'm a fan of ScholarMan and we've been supporting his work for as long as it has been hitting our inbox. ScholarMan is a dope emcee out of Maryland who makes some incredible music. It was dope to see an artist of his caliber get some recognition on the show.

So, props to the homie. Check out his music. He definitely has some dope stuff.

Download ... recess "recess ep"

There's really not much better than the sound of a live band rocking beats with a fresh front man killing it. That's what you get on the self titled ep from recess (sene + the clubhouse).

The nine track ep is filled with some really fresh cuts, that plays off of a bit of alternative rock, jazz and Hip-Hop. With features from Blu, Fresh Daily, Donwill (of Tanya Morgan) and Nicholas Ryan Grant, recess delivers enough sound for an LP. But what recess does with their ep, just over 30 minutes, is get you ready for more music from the crew. And now you want more.

"au revoir", "love in the streets of bklyn", "emperor strikes back" and "the gentleman" are among my favorite cuts. This is a very enjoyable project. I dig it. I hope you enjoy it too. Chea!

Download ... Theo Martins "Sincerely Yours, The Dance Floor"

The You Can't Do That On Television EP released last April was my first introduction to Rhode Island emcee Theo Martins. I thought the dude was dope from the second I hit play on that project. I've been following him ever since. There have been a few tracks between that release and his latest, Sincerely Yours, the Dance Floor, which dropped today.

With his latest project, it's safe to say that Theo doesn't believe in being safe through his music. He steps out boldly. What Sincerely Yours, the Dance Floor ultimately proves is that you can't put Theo's sound in a box nor one specific genre. With it's elements of hip-hop, pop, electro and more, Theo delivers a very fresh and original product with Sincerely Yours, the Dance Floor. I enjoyed it.

In an age of many cookie-cutter music folks, Theo's sound is refreshing. Sincerely Yours, the Dance Floor is dope. Enjoy. Chea!

Check out one of my favorite cuts, "White Friends." If you dig it, head over to DJBooth and download it.

Check It ... Savant, Dominique Larue & Dee Jackson - "Rely On Me" (prod. by iIL MeeL)

Check the latest. Never disappoints. Dope.

Check point 5 of 2011... #CrashCourse 8. Three days away from embarking on the Abstract Music Group's Spring Tour 2011 of the United States' northeastern region, AMG's Savant links with Chicago's Peerless Recordings to bring you the latest addition to his Crash Course Leak Series, the heartwarming "Rely On Me". Sonically laced by Philadelphia's iIL MeeL (also the site of the tour's jump off), the Dominique Larue & Dee Jackson assisted ode to family exudes a rare warmth that's certain to stir the soul of the listener.

Stream and download "Rely On Me" (prod. by iIL MeeL) HERE:

What I'm Watching ... Kap Kallous - "Like I Do ft. S.K.I.P." (Prod by. Optiks)

I dig this track by Kap and appreciate the fact that he enlisted S.K.I.P. for the vocals on this. Check it.

Kap Kallous is back again with his second single from his forthcoming LP "I Should Have Kept My Mouth Shut"; this time with the infectiously ominous "Like I Do" featuring Orlando favorite S.K.I.P(Second Subject Recordings). The combination of Kallous' true to grit lyrics over Optiks creepy church organs and impeccable drum selections gives this cut instant replay value. Get in the car and put on "Like I Do", We guarantee you'll like what it does.

Download ... Mean Doe Green "Black Suits & Shovels"

This Mean Doe Green joint starts tough with the Good Fellas reference. Then, we're off to the races after the beat drops on "Dig It." The Sacramento emcee came to rhyme and rhyme he does on his latest offering, Black Suits & Shovels. A few features from some of Sacramento's finest, including the homie Chuuwee and C-Plus. Mean Doe Green also delivers some dope production from the likes of Grinch, Lee Bannon and others. You can't deny Black Suits & Shovels is a win. Hit play and enjoy. Chea!

Jesse Abraham "The One Day EP"

One thing you can always expect from a Jesse Abraham track and project is high energy and wordplay. That's what you find on Jesse's latest, The One Day EP.

The project that dropped at the top of the month, features the single that initially didn't have a project, "Spiderman On Vitamins."A few weeks back Jesse dropped a pretty fresh video for the track.

In addition to Spiderman there are few features from the likes of Eric Sosa and Fresh Daily. Also alongside Jesse's wordplay are some fresh beats from Spills, Jinesis and a gang of tracks with K.O. Beatz behind the boards.

The One Day EP is a cool follow up to Jesse's Bars & Nobull. The one thing I always liked about Jesse's sound is the passion behind the lyrics.

My three favorite cuts, "One Day", "Life is a Free Throw" and "Ridiculous." Overall it's a fresh project. Hit play and enjoy.
