"A generation overly obsessed with mobsters / our revolutionaries more Grammys and Oscars / imposters...fake auras and weak Chakras / making a mockery of the music to be pop stars..." - Pharoahe Monch
The inbox provided us with this dopeness of a story in lyrical form by Has-Lo. Hit play and enjoy.
Has-Lo's "Black Rose - GumShoe Remix." The original version of "Black Rose" appeared on MMG's "Helpless Dreamer" and the remix is now provided by Culture I. "Black Rose" is an exercise in storytelling, and is basically a Noir detective story on wax, thus the "GumShoe Remix."
Straight from the vaults (#noDisney) and mixed properly, Independent's Day Showcase alum The Doppelgangaz re-release this dope jawn, "Timbuktu (Remix)". So, in the words of The Doppelgangaz -- for the Sharks and Sharkettes, enjoy. Ha!
Here's the 3rd single from Status Reign of the Background Noise Crew. Brutally Honest (his debut record) is out on April 5th, 2011. So much good music coming out!
Yessir, both the homies Mally & The Sundance Kid continue on their path, this time returning after the stellar "Once We're Kings" cut with "7 Days", a well woven romantic tale with the soundscape provided by The Sundance Kid and words provided by Mally.
Check out some unique music by a uniquely named artist, 7even:Thirty.
Gritty-ass video for "Twenty-Eleven". From the LP, Heaven's Computer (2011). Track produced by 5-D. Filmed by Tahiti. Edited by Tahiti & 7even:Thirty. Special appearance by AwkQuarius. Directed by 7even:Thirty.
Check point 4 of 2011... #CrashCourse 7. Savant continues to strengthen the ties between Chicago and Tucson, AZ, pairing one of the Chi's premier turntablists, Rice the Sound Transmitter, with Tucson's most potent two way threat since Richard Jefferson, Smoke Brothers emcee/ beatsmith, Habeas Corpus. Savant and Corpus swap bars over the Corpus laced pounding, leftist instrumental before Rice breathes life into what seems to be the long lost art of scratching.
Tuesday night came and went and if you missed the show broadcasted on www.skyyhookradio.com between 7-8pm (est) then you might've f'd up. Haha. Jokes. But here it is. Tracklist and all. Oh and if you love to have a copy on your iPod/Mp3 player/computer/diary, download it here.
