Check It ... Saigon - "Too Long featuring Black Thought"

Saigon's "Greatest Story Never Told" finally saw a release date on February 15th. Possibly a good belated Valentine's Day gift for the fellas, ladies. Haha. Good production, good lyrics, good features. You already know I'm digging this track with one of my favorite MCs ever, Black Thought. What are your thoughts on the entire album?

Check It ... Asylum Lifetime and Sherm LaRock - "Political Asylum" (Album)

If you don't know about Asylum Lifetime and his producer Sherm LaRock, get to work. This Hip-Hop duo out of Connecticut has been putting in hard work for some years now and is easily noticeable in their latest effort titled "Political Asylum". This gritty project includes features by other CT residents in Blacastan, Correct 1, ColomBeyond, and more. Production off this album is reminiscent of the mid 90s, in my opinion, with lyrics that compliment them. This album is one that's unique to what I hear coming out of this state and one you might appreciate as I do. Check out the album sampler containing 5 of his tracks and make sure you hit up their website for more info and to cop the album.

What I'm Watching ... The Foreign Exchange - "Authenticity"

New video by The Foreign Exchange. Seems like every time they come out with a video, I have to go back to the cd, hit play and repeat.

I don’t know where I should be!
This game we play is killing me.
She’s all that I could dream,
But she tears me apart.
She wants me to feel her need,
She begs for authenticity,
You don’t want truth from me,
You just want what you want!

Download ... Al-Fatir - "Robots and Skylines"

Finally got around to listening to Al-Fatir's free album with original production titled "Robots and Skylines". Interesting title which added to the curiosity of the album. Like a skyline, there are just a few ups and downs in this album when it came to production and the energy in his flow. But like robots, he came to get the job done. Overall, it's a good project and for the price, Free99, you might be hard pressed to find any arguments on it. I've added a few tracks for your immediate listening pleasure but make sure you click the link to cop the entire project. Check it!

DJBoothTV: Interview with Marsha Ambrosius [Video]

Marsha Ambrosius- DJ Booth.net Interview from Hot Mop Films on Vimeo.

Shouts to DJBooth.net, DJ Z, Nathan, Hot Mop Films and Jacques Morel for the fresh interview with songstress Marsha Ambrosius. Recently she sat down with Jacques for a DJBoothTV interview. Check it out above.
Throughout the early-to-mid 2000s, Marsha Ambrosius was a staple of the urban music game, melding hip-hop, neo-soul and poetry as one-half of duo Floetry (co-founded with Natalie Dee). While the Liverpool-born singer-songwriter has been flying under the radar since the group's 2007 dissolution, concentrating her efforts on a handful of well-received street albums, she was by no means done with the mainstream – she was simply waiting till the time was ripe to make her grand re-entrance. Now, that moment has nearly come. On Late Nights and Early Mornings, "The Songstress" is back like she never left, showcasing a “sensual, sincere and seductive” sound sure to resonate with today's R&B listeners. Complete with Booth-approved lead single “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)”, the project is set to drop March 1 via J Records

In the exclusive video interview below, Marsha Ambrosius sits down with DJBoothTV's own Jacques Morel to discuss the genesis of the album's title, her creative control over the project, and how she managed to enlist the elusive Lauryn Hill on the songwriting tip.
