New video by The Foreign Exchange. Seems like every time they come out with a video, I have to go back to the cd, hit play and repeat.
I don’t know where I should be!
This game we play is killing me.
She’s all that I could dream,
But she tears me apart.
She wants me to feel her need,
She begs for authenticity,
You don’t want truth from me,
You just want what you want!
Finally got around to listening to Al-Fatir's free album with original production titled "Robots and Skylines". Interesting title which added to the curiosity of the album. Like a skyline, there are just a few ups and downs in this album when it came to production and the energy in his flow. But like robots, he came to get the job done. Overall, it's a good project and for the price, Free99, you might be hard pressed to find any arguments on it. I've added a few tracks for your immediate listening pleasure but make sure you click the link to cop the entire project. Check it!
"I respect Dibia$e' craft, and this was inspired from his music. Shoutout to @DaRealDibiase." Get the back story on Ritchcraft's 30 in 30 here and peep day 8. Enjoy. Chea!
If you were in the building for our fifth Independent's Day Showcase, you were part of the dope folks that got to experience what we bring to you in the form of these talented artists and their incredible music. They all were hyped and kept the crowd entertained throughout the entire night. We ended with our first ever open mic cypher which added even more intensity to what was an already successful night. All mentioned was caught on camera. Check it by clicking Read More.
This week we are bringing you one very creative video which you have probably seen once or thrice already. We also have four other videos that are definitely worth your time. So check Tyler The Creator, The Lytics, Big Stat, Dion Primo, Fran-P, and the ReadNex Poetry Squad this week. Again hit me at readbeanpie@gmail.com to have your video considered. Enjoy!
This is probably the most mellow of all of the Ritchcraft beats so far in this series. I mean, we're only on day 7 of 30 but I'm saying. Ha! Get the back story on Ritchcraft's 30 in 30 here and peep day 7. Enjoy. Chea!
"Fuck dumbing it down, you better smarten it up ..."
As the homie e.d.g.e. said in the intro to his latest email, "3 tracks a week...No stopping anytime soon." And he's delivered three times weekly a quality track. Check out his latest offering over a Dilla beat. Look out for All Flow Everything coming soon. Chea!
Shouts to DJBooth.net, DJ Z, Nathan, Hot Mop Films and Jacques Morel for the fresh interview with songstress Marsha Ambrosius. Recently she sat down with Jacques for a DJBoothTV interview. Check it out above.
Throughout the early-to-mid 2000s, Marsha Ambrosius was a staple of the urban music game, melding hip-hop, neo-soul and poetry as one-half of duo Floetry (co-founded with Natalie Dee). While the Liverpool-born singer-songwriter has been flying under the radar since the group's 2007 dissolution, concentrating her efforts on a handful of well-received street albums, she was by no means done with the mainstream – she was simply waiting till the time was ripe to make her grand re-entrance. Now, that moment has nearly come. On Late Nights and Early Mornings, "The Songstress" is back like she never left, showcasing a “sensual, sincere and seductive” sound sure to resonate with today's R&B listeners. Complete with Booth-approved lead single “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)”, the project is set to drop March 1 via J Records
In the exclusive video interview below, Marsha Ambrosius sits down with DJBoothTV's own Jacques Morel to discuss the genesis of the album's title, her creative control over the project, and how she managed to enlist the elusive Lauryn Hill on the songwriting tip.
For day six, Ritchcraft dedicates this to those that inspire him as a producer/beatmaker. Ritchcraft draws inspiration from folks like Pete Rock and Ski Beatz on the production side and Skyzoo and Homeboy Sandman on the emcee side. Get the back story on Ritchcraft's 30 in 30 here and peep day 6. Enjoy. Chea!
