Check It ... Chuuwee "French Inhale" (Prod. By Jonathan Lowell)
I'm convinced that Sacramento emcee Chuuwee is always in the studio based on the amount of music he puts out. Earlier this evening, after a little bit of #BeCool motivation from his twitter followers, Chuuwee unleashed this track off his upcoming Be Cool project with Boston producer Jonathan Lowell due to drop at some point this month. Enjoy the weed inspired track. Chea!

Yourstru.ly Presents: @BigKRIT Wuz Here (The Grillade Sessions)
Yourstru.ly Presents: Big K.R.I.T. Wuz Here (The Grillade Sessions) from Yours Truly on Vimeo.
You already know I'm a Big K.R.I.T. fan. I'm also a fan of the music created with a live band. Well, it seems that both of those things have come together to create K.R.I.T. Wuz Here (The Grillade Sessions). The EP takes music from the Mississippi rappers K.R.I.T. Wuz Here project and recreates it with the help of the Bay Area band. Pretty exciting project presented by Yourstru.ly. Definitely looking forward to it. In the meantime, peep the snippet video above. Chea!

What I'm Watching ... Signif "Lovely Imperfections"
Signif x Darren Cole. I could end what I have to say there because what they create together is so dope (this is the third video with Darren behind the lens for Signif). The two team up again to bring you a fresh video for Signif's "Lovely Imprefection." Darren is a talented director/editor/dj out of Milwaukee spending time between there Boston and NYC right now. And Signif is a regular on the blog, having been featured countless times and last year she released what I considered one of the strongest projects of the year. Her album The Transition is the gift that keeps on giving. The video is a pretty strong way to start the year for Signif who has a new project on the way produced by Gee Wiz. While we wait on that, check out the video for now and if you're unfamiliar with Signif, check out my interview with her. Chea!

Interview: e.d.g.e. x Hip-Hop Vancouver
A good friend of the blog, e.d.g.e., sat down with Sabrina Whiffen for an interview with Hip-Hop Vancouver. They talked about his music, his musical influence and what's next. Definitely a fresh interview with a very talented and yet humble emcee. Look out for more dope music from e.d.g.e. coming real soon. Chea!

Track of the Week 1/8/11: Dusk "Black Lungs"
It's been a long while since we posted a track for the track of the week. It's a feature on the blog that both O and I have talked about a lot. So, we're bringing it back.
This week's track comes from Salt Lake City rapper Dusk (who was featured on the site just a day or so ago). I discovered this track after he sent his The Brady Effect project to me. Because of the EP, I found myself checking out more of his music through his Reverb page. I was immediately impressed by "Black Lungs," which is off of his Black Lungs Ep with his group MindState. There's something dope about the gritty sound created on the blues driven "Black Lungs." Definitely a cool track. So, check out and enjoy the track of the week. Chea!

What I'm Watching ... Sin "Release"
This track and video are both dope. The video simple but the track delivers an incredible story. The "Release" is just that, a release for Sin through rhyme. Definitely a fresh track. Look out for his The Book of Sin mixtape dropping soon. Video directed by Marksmen Films. Enjoy.

Check It ... YC The Cynic "Fall FWD RMX" (prod. by 2Hungry Bros)
YC The Cynic returns with his remix to the title track off his upcoming project, Fall Fwd. On the remix he's joined by Baxter Wordsworth, P.So and 8thW1 with production from 2Hungry Bros. Definitely a dope cut. Twitter theme song for subliminals and wack hashtags? Maybe. Ha! Check out the cut and look out for the Fall Fwd mixtape coming soon.
The back story to "Fall Fwd" according to YC:
Recently, I rocked at a show at SOBs to celebrate Big K.R.I.T. signing to Def Jam. While I was performing, one of the underground's favorite darlings to hate was hard at work on the internet, calling the show #Niggafest2000, and getting at me in the process. Needless to say, my brethren rose to the occasion and were quick to defend, and she ended up getting put in her place. That inspired this joint right here.
