Check It ... Tef Poe "Everybody Strapped"

Tef Poe doesn't hold back on the new track off his upcoming project War Machine. It's on that Dead Prez type of level in terms of the sound and content. Instead of a long intro from me, I'll share his words on the track. Hit up the comment section with your thoughts.
In honor of the Oscar Grant tragedy and verdict I decided to throw out this song off of War Machine produced by Indiana Rome.

This is a very harsh record but I don’t apologize for one single lyric.

I am asking people everywhere to post it not for my personal gratification but simply to spread the message about this terrible act of injustice.

I really do think this is a tragic American tragedy and some kinda way we should all do our part to speak out about this. I know some of us may feel like there really isn’t anything we can do but we all need to challenge ourselves to do something even if its something subtle you don't have to lay down in the middle of the street and die. I’m just asking you to activate your heart and unplug your self from the system momentarily.

In this same record I am also attempting to bring attention to the case of a political prisoner from St.Louis MO, by the name of  Reggie Clemons who is now fighting for his life on death row (please Google for more details)

I actually wrote and recorded this song months ago.

The disenfranchised people of the world have a voice again War Machine coming soon…

Check It ... Jones Andrews “Came a Long Way” (Thirty-Two-Tuesdays Week 17)

Another week, another rhyme from Jones Andrews. Just beyond the half-way mark of his Thirty-Two-Tuesdays series, sponsored by RefinedHype.com and Flight School Music, Andrews enters week 17 with an original track. Actually the second half of the series will be all original tracks, which will allow Andrews to continue to flex his lyrical abilities. This weeks jawn produced by DJ Qvali definitely starts the second half in a strong way. Check out the track and more about the Thirty-Two-Tuesdays series over at RefinedHype.com [click link for track/info].

Download ... A Tribe Called Bastard - On the Blvd. of Layton

The Milwaukee crew KingHellBastard have never been really into the whole mixtape thing, so with their new project they venture into uncharted territory for the group. But instead of just doing any type of mixtape, they decided on the 17th anniversary of the release of A Tribe Called Quest's Midnight Marauders to release A Tribe Called Bastard - On the Blvd. of Layton. I had the privledge of rocking with the press advance over the weekend. The project is fresh. With appearances from Sadat X,  Akrobatik, Raashan Ahmad and Stricklin, coupled with the energy of KHB, this joint is definitely worth the download. Enjoy.
KHB has never been interested in the hype-over-substance world of here-today/gone-tomorrow mixtapes, so it is only fitting that our sole contribution to the medium opts for a different template. Instead of jumping on instrumentals from the latest pop-rap radio singles, we decided to see how our previously recorded verses would hold up when synched with classic beats from hip-hop's past. In particular, beats from A Tribe Called Quest, hence the name of the project. The results surprised us, and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised as well. Mixed by our very own DJ OneL, "A Tribe CalledBastard..." makes for a blissed-out trip down memory lane with some new friends.
