Where @LadyBlogga Will Be ... The Generation Next Showcase
New York City in the Summertime is notorious for a lot of things. Great music and concerts are one of them. Tomorrow night at Littlefield in Brooklyn NY, the Generation Next showcase is going down. SoulRebel NYC in conjunction with HipHopDX.com is launching the first showcase for buzzworthy artists, not only from NYC but across the country.
Hosted by @INFNYC and HOT 97’s own Peter Rosenberg, this first show boasts a tight line-up. Performers include SkyZoo (who’s track “Popularity” was featured on Entourage a couple of weeks ago), TiRon, Game Rebellion, The Kid Daytona, The Illz (who rocked out at Santos Monday night with Joelle Ortiz, Joe Budden and a few others), J. Ferb, and Ca$he. Generation Next creator and SoulRebel NYC founder Mic Sean is the mastermind responsible for bringing these acts together and giving them the platform they need to take their careers to the next level.
Being a fan of Hip Hop music and all it has to offer, I look forward to this and other Gen Next installments. For further information and ticket sales, please visit soulrebelnyc.com or follow Mic Sean on Twitter @MicSeanNYC

Download ... ST. JOE LOUIS "30,000 FT HIGH & RISING"
Check the project from St Joe Louis. Enjoy.
After a brief layover with the "Almost There" FreEP...St. Joe Louis takes us "30,000 ft High & Rising."
It commences with an homage to De La Soul on 30,000 and then sky-rockets into the epic life journey’s of Elete, Tommie Chase and Michael Cardigan. The title deals not just with being fly but about the pressures that come with reaching for your dreams.
The trio- candid in their approach and transparent in their delivery- share their triumphs and failures on tracks like, I Reply, and Run Out of Love, respectively. "30,000 ft High & Rising" features Skyzoo, PH (formerly Pumkinhead), Daniel Joseph, and others.
01.) 30,000 (feat. Chordz Cordero)
02.) Good Morning
03.) I Reply
04.) Run Out of Love
05.) So Far (feat. Stevie Lee)
06.) Searching
07.) Top Model

In preparation for Trek Life's new album "Everything Changed Nothing" available July 27th, I put together a "West Coast" beat-tape.
Coming from the city of Go-Go, I've always loved production inspired by funk. when it comes to funk inspired hip hop, no body does it like the west. While I was on the west producing Trek Life's album that inspiration went further than being a fan. I don't know if it was the palm trees, beaches, or burgers but this is what I was making in LA. Listen, Download, Enjoy & purchase "Everything Changed Nothing".

What I'm Watching ... The Roots "The Fire" featuring John Legend
The Roots LP, How I Got Over, is in stores now. Video directed by Rik Cordero.
"The Fire" chronicles a post-apocalyptic death march set in 1945 during the final stages of World War II in Europe. After a cataclysmic event renders the war futile, a paramilitary splinter group -- led by a Kurtz-like figure known as The Commodore -- forces the transfer of young men who will be used as labor...and food. The last survivor of the march receives a mysterious White Box which holds the key to survival. - Rik

Check It ... Quake "Shine Forever"
Check another track from Quake. Dude throwing some good tracks out there ahead of his August 31st project. Check it out.
This is Quake's take on electronic artist mozez 2005 track titled Take The Sun. Quake takes a different approach on this mellow production, bringing a soulful yet inspirational presence to the song. Shine Forever won't be featured on Quake debut album The Myth which is being released August 31st. However it will be featured on an upcoming mixtape project dropping in October.
