Listen To This: @IAmCJOfficial

I was put on to this cat by one of the homies @OCSupreme and from the time I pressed play to the end of the song, I was just grooving to CJ Hilton's newest joint "We Can Get It In." The song in and of itself has a nice little vibe to it. His vocals fit perfectly on top of the track. He's not doing too much, not doing too little. Sometimes simplicity speaks louder than vocal tricks and CJ is definitely speaking loudly here. Listen for yourself. Enjoy.

Download ... The Drop Squad "The Drop"

Apparently this joint has been out for a little while but it just hit my inbox a few days ago. Most of this project is pretty good. A few tracks I'd pass on and I probably wouldn't have chunked all the skits at the end but overall, there's some quality on the project. Check out the debut mixtape from the DMV crew The Drop Squad.

Fresh off the "At Last" cd release (GET THAT ASAP), Eternia delivers in the video for "Goodbye" directed by Mark Carranceja. Shouts to MoSS for destroying the beat on this track. You ready?! What I'm Watching ... Ahmad "Get Some Money & Go 2 Jail" feat. Crooked I

The track is dope. The video is too. Enjoy.
Ahmad Ali Lewis, best known for his seminal 1990’s nostalgic party anthem “Back in The Day”, is returning to the rap game with his long-anticipated sophomore album, The Death Of Me, set for release Tuesday, August 10th.

After taking a hiatus from music to complete his undergraduate studies at the prestigious Stanford University, Ahmad has been preparing for the release of The Death Of Me which kicks off with the lead single and video "Get Some Money & Go 2 Jail" featuring Crooked I, of the Shady Records super-group, Slaughterhouse.

"I wanted to provide for my family and secure my son's future, but also Stanford gave me the opportunity to learn things I felt I should have already known. I never left the music alone though, so in a way, this album is a culmination of a decade of work behind the scenes.".

The set also features members of the Living Legends and production by The Machine and Medicine. The Death Of Me will be released on Ahmad's own imprint WeCLAP.

Check out the video and Lead Single "Get Some Money & Go 2 Jail" featuring Crooked I.

Check It ... Skyzoo & ILLMIND "Frisbees"

"Frisbees" is the first leak off Skyzoo & ILLMIND's album 'Live From The Tape Deck' in stores this October on Duck Down Music. Look out for the music video in the next few weeks.

@TheMadBloggers_ at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival

Good times were had by all on July 10th under the Brooklyn Bridge. Q and I took a few days off to meet up in NY for a weekend full of Hip-Hop. It started out with heading to the BHF under the bridge where artists such as Fashawn, Curren$y, Diamond District, Skyzoo, Rakaa Iriscience of Dilated Peoples with DJ Babu, Black Milk, Duck Down, Nice & Smooth, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, headliners De La Soul and more. Check the full list here. The Mad Bloggers were almost in full effect when we met up with @LadyBlogga at the show. Rocking our TMB shirts, Q and I noticed the hard work The Mad Bloggers have been putting in since last year's show. A few artists stopped us to chat it up letting us know that they appreciate us for posting their music. We also had a few of the site's visitors tell us they've check out the blog and like what we're doing with it from a cat that said he followed our Journey To Hip-Hop series to another cat telling us that he checks out the podcast. Very inspiring and motivating to us to continue the hard work. Minus the on and off rain and technical difficulties with the sound at times, the show was dope. All those acts for $15? Yeah. Hope you were there. Check out some of the photos.

Gotta Love New York & Knitted Bike Covers

New York is a funny place. Between the dude on the subway telling his girlfriend when they got home he was going to watch Twilight Zone, eat cashews and maybe masturbate to the lonely girl eating pizza in a corner to the other girl who stumbled out of the subway eating a double cheeseburger, the night was hilarious. Perhaps the funniest, this picture. Tell me NOW please lawd who knits a bike cover? Please, anyone. This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen and at 3:30 in the morning with a gang of drinks running through my system, it was even funnier. Gotta love New York.
