Reflection Eternal on Sound Session w/@DJHyphen and J. Moore

Two weeks ago our Seattle homie DJ Hyphen had the opportunity to interview Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek aka Reflection Eternal on his Sunday Night Sound Session show. He featured tracks from Revolution Per Minute plus an indepth interview during the show. Below you'll find one of the vids from that interview and links to both the full show and full video interview. Check it and enjoy.
Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek came through Sound Session two weeks ago to talk all about their new album. Here’s the entire in-depth interview with these two legendary hip-hop figures, and more importantly, just two all around good dudes. Support them by copping Revolutions Per Minute and for the youngins who never bought Train of Thought, you better get that too!

TMB's Track of the Week 6/8/10 "Thunder Summer Storm" @MelissaCzarnik

Melissa Czarnik has been featured on the blog a few times. I dig her music. Every time I write about her sound, I throw the words "unique", "different" and "alternative" around. Indeed it is all of those things. "Thunder Summer Storm" (produced by Eric Mire) is one of my favorite tracks off of Melissa's "Strawberry Cadillac". It's a very chill track with depth in it's lyrics. Melissa is wrapping up work on her upcoming project due out late July. I'm excited to hear the new work. In the meantime, enjoy "Thunder Summer Storm", the track of the week.

Download ... Haz Solo x Whaz x DOOM "ALL CAPS NO TRICK SPELLING: VILLAIN MIX"

When Haz Solo changes default pics on twitter, prepare for a new project to drop. Sunday, Haz popped into my timeline and his pic had changed. I knew immediately that something was on the horizon. So I reached out to him. He confirmed. I responded "do you ever sleep?" He replied "I'd drop a project bi-weekly if I could."

The dude is dope and he's been featured on the blog as both an emcee and a producer. Today he dropped "ALL CAPS NO TRICK SPELLING: VILLAIN MIX" presented by him and Whaz. A project started a few months ago and completed over the weekend, it's a remix album of DOOM tracks that's pretty damn dope. Here's my favorite cut off the project. If you dig it, go download the full joint!

Check It ... @TheRealEternia "The BBQ" (remix) featuring @JeanGrae @TiyePhoenix

I had a meeting and stepped away for a moment. I came back to my computer and had this joint waiting in the inbox. Gotdamn this just made my morning (and early afternoon). No dope female rappers? Caught up in that Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim drama? Later for that, because this joint from Eternia x Tiye Phoenix x Jean Grae is serious. Really, really serious. This jawn follows the already dope "THE BBQ" featuring Rah Digga and Rage, the lead single off the "AT LAST" limited edition vinyl, which oh by the way is available TODAY! Press play. Turn up the volume. Enjoy.

What I'm Watching ... Rhymefest "Say Wassup" featuring Phonte

Check the new video from Rhymefest "Say Wassup" featuring Phonte. It's a fresh video and concept, however I'm a little tired of the 3D thing. Actually, really tired of it. 3D is to film, what autotune is to  music (read: overused).  This track is off Rhymefest's sophomore album "El Che", which drops June 8. Check it and enjoy, sans the 3D glasses, unless you have the Avatar joints laying around (which you probably do).

What I'm Listening To ... Raheem DeVaughn - "B.O.B."

Yeah. I'm zoning. This album is good. Real good. This song is creative. I like it. I like how he makes valid points on the situations with women and B.O.B. I guess there are pros and cons to every thing in life, huh? Haha. Check it.

And if you haven't copped the third album, The Love and War Masterpiece, don't be one of the few left out. This guy, for 3 albums already, has put out quality music. I definitely co-sign his work. But let the music speak for itself and you be the judge.

Listen To This: @EspeSpalding

I don't even really have a lot of words for this songstress. Her voice is amazing. Her music is unique and fresh. She's young. She's doing it. Just listen. I couldn't find an mp3 to embed, so a video of the track I absolutely adore will suffice. I love every single song on her Myspace Music page but when I heard "Fall In" that's when I knew I had to share. "I Adore You" and "I Know You Know" are two other fantastic songs you should check out as well. Enjoy.

Listen To This: @Lola_Blue

I rarely get anything in my email that should be shared with the masses, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard "Journey" by Lola Bleu. The track in and of itself is dope, but when I listen to a song, I listen to the components of it, i.e. the vocals (obviously), how the vocals fit on top of the track, how each of the elements in the track were put together, etc. I have to say that this is a well built, solid body of work. I've already listened to it about five times already. What struck me the most were the harmonies in the chorus and the clarity of her voice. But don't take my word for it. You'll just have to listen.

Lola Bleu, born Janell McCracken, has a strong history in music, particularly in the choir. She is currently working with producer David Sanders II on her debut album Love Will Find A Way. I definitely look forward to hearing more from her in the coming months.

To check out what else Lola Bleu is getting into, you can find her on Myspace Music and Reverb Nation. Enjoy.
