Check It ... Iron Solomon "Sucker MC's"
There's something about this joint from Iron Solomon that I dig. He linked up with DMC to present "Sucker MC's". It's got that old school vibe to it. Hit up the comments and tell me what you think. CHEA!

Where @LadyBlogga was ... Homeboy Sandman & Spec Boogie Album Release
Tuesday has always been an important day in the music industry. Well this past Tuesday (6/1) was especially great. I was in attendance at the Homeboy Sandman and Spec Boogie Album release party/show at S.O.B.’s and it was EPIC!!! First of all I want to applaud Anarch Eighty for putting together such an event. I had no idea what was on the agenda and I was pleasantly surprised as the evening unfolded. The hosts TastyKeish of WBAI and Peter Rosenberg from Hot 97, real people who know Hip-Hop, did an awesome job. The evening celebrated “REAL HIP-HOP” and the artists that stay true to the game. Performers included Ciph Diggy, Elucid, Core Rhythm, Rabbi Darkside, J-Live, Che Grand, Peter Hadar, Donwill and Von Pea, and the men of the hour, Spec Boogie and Homeboy Sandman.
If you missed this show I am here to rub it in your face and tell you that you missed a great show. This one is definitely going down as one of the best shows I’ve seen. You missed J-Live spittin’ bars and mixing simultaneously, Core Rhythm getting’ busy to the Rabbi Darkside beatbox, (Shout Out to Rabbi Darkside for his Nurse Jackie appearance), Chaz Kangas and Kosha Dillz Freestyle, Fresh Daily on the mic with Homeboy Sandman, Peter Hadar and Spec Boogie duet and Don Will and Von Pea moving the crowd.
Spec Boogie came out and his energy was crazy. His introduction rhyme is insane as every word in the verses either start with an S or a B. Who does that?? And it was on point. He then went into his album material and continued with his collaboration tunes with most of the artists on the bill.
Homeboy Sandman tore the stage up. That’s the best way to describe it. He came out and let the crowd direct him by starting the show with “Verbal Soul Clap” and it went from there. He performed songs from “The Good Sun” and took us back to “Lightning Bolt Lightning Rod” “Airwave Air Raid” and “Not Pop”. There were a myriad of on-stage collabos including “Freestyle of Mine” (GNR “Sweet Child of Mine”) with Kosha Dillz, Homeboy Sandman and Chaz Kangas.
This Hip Hop game is making a turn for the better. On a Tuesday night, it was amazing to see a packed S.O.B.’s in the name of Real Hip Hop. We need to keep supporting our independent and underground artists and let these industry cats know that this is what we want to hear!! I applaud artists who do it for the love of the game and the people. Keep bringin’ us the stuff we want to hear.

Listen To This: Emrah Kotan
Who is one the most prolific cats to hold a pair of drum sticks? Emrah Kotan. As one of the nicest people you'll ever meet he is also one of the most gifted percussionist you'll ever hear. Emrah is the Director of the Jazz and World Percussion Ensembles at Agnes Scott College as well as a member of the renowned jazz trio International Groove Conspiracy with bassist Matt Stallard and pianist Jose Manuel Garcia. With them, Emrah has traveled across the world performing at some of the most prominent jazz venues around.
As one of his former students, I can honestly say that watching him play is not only a treat but an experience. Simply put by Joseph Patrick Moore, owner of Blue Kanoe Records, "Emrah Kotan is a superb musician with dazzling technique [...] The bottom line is that Emrah Kotan is a great artist with wonderful gifts to offer." With that said, I will leave you with a video of Emrah performing "Tanya" with International Groove Conspiracy at The Blue Note in New York City. Enjoy.
To find out more about what Emrah is doing and where he'll be performing visit his website www.emrahkotan.com. Also, check out more of his videos at YouTube.

The Cardim Collection continues!! This one is my favorite so far in the series because its the first taste of the sample-free sound Budden and Cardim have been creating on Joe's album The Great Escape. Look out for more J. Cardim/Joe Budden collaborations later this month on J. Cardim's upcoming project Dice Music Group: The IN Crowd!
