We appreciate getting new, different, good music in the inbox. Why? Because it's proof that music like that is out there. Just gotta look or ask around. Also, we get to share it with you. Check out Be.Water's latest effort. I'm digging it.

Check It ... ImpoliteSociety "Look of Love"
The track is cool. I felt the need to share. Enjoy.
"ImpoliteSociety includes ELEE X & Westley Parker, two young Chicago native MCs who rhyme w/ a purpose and passion. We've been making our rounds w/ local, independent and college radio including Chicago's legendary WHPK and we've also opened for many of Chicago's well known hometown heroes. The "Look of Love" is a single from our forthcoming mixtape, "Can't Dance, Nor Do I Care to Learn. The "Look of Love" is us challenging 9th Wonder's remix of Slum Village's track of the same title. Hope y'all enjoy!"

Download ... @IamRobRoy "King Warrior Magician Lover"
I'm going to start this by saying, it's different.
Rob Roy is different.
It was a year ago I first wrote about him. It was his "Fur in My Cap" video that caught my attention (and a gang of other people). As I began to check his music, I knew this dude had something different to offer to music.
Yes, I used "different" three times because I can't stress that enough. Rob Rob remains a rare mix of talent and uniqueness. While "King Warrior Magician Lover" has been streaming online for over a year, it's now available for official download.
Like I said a year ago, he’s definitely not for everyone. He brings creativity and passion to his craft. I respect and dig that.
"When Rob Roy streamed his album "King Warrior Magician Lover" on imeem last year, it garnered 800,000+ plays in one week. His video for the song "Fur In My Cap" had the internet going nuts with the likes of Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Travis Barker, Chris Brown and ?uestlove all giving props to the multi-talented rapper/singer/producer. You might have heard him on HBO's "Entourage" or read about him in the pages of Nylon Guys and Giant Magazine. Here are two of favorite cuts from this jawn, "Rollercoaster Baby" and "White Shoes". If you dig 'em, go 'head and download the full project.
Many of you have been looking for a way to find his full length album and now the wait is finally over. PLUS a digital song book with exclusive photos and all of Rob's lyrics."

Check It ... Homeboy Sandman feat. PackFM "Bonkers"
It's funny when dope cuts don't make final projects yet so many cats put out albums full of joints that definitely should have been cut. Anyway, I caught the new joint in the email from Homeboy Sandman featuring PackFM "Bonkers" which didn't make the cut on his upcoming project. Speaking of his upcoming project, "The Good Sun" drops June 1st and PackFM's 'I F*cking Hate Rappers' drops May 25th.

Download ... J. Good "Scrubs: The Lost Mixtape"
It's quite possible that Sacramento could be our next stop on our Journey to Hip-Hop series because I've been stumbling upon quite a bit of talented emcees from the area.
J. Good, another example of the Hip-Hop coming out of Sacramento. While I've been hard on folks dropping projects with more than 10 tracks, his 21 tracks do deliver. The television show Scrubs provides the story line, while J. Good flows over a few industry beats. Overall it's a good project. Check out a few of my favorite cuts off the project, "Keep Pushin" and "Passing Me By(The Friend Zone)", and if you're digging 'em, go ahead and download the full project.

Check It ... @RubyIbarra
I've been sitting on this one for a little while.
The homie Shaun (@readbeanpie) hit me with the Kitchen Raps video a few weeks back. I was definitely digging it. I found myself laughing at the girl dancing in the background and then suddenly she let lose in rhyme and my jaw dropped. It was unexpected.
She is Ruby Ibarra.
Her flow in Kitchen Raps caused me to dig a little deeper and find more stuff from the West Coast female emcee.
After digging for music and exchanging a few emails with Ruby, all I can say is she's dope. Like many emcees her roots are in spoken word and it shows in her rhyme. She's lyrical. She's fresh. I'm telling you, pay attention! Expect more projects on the way from Ruby!

First Listen ... Caits Meissner "The Wolf & Me"
I had the chance to preview Caits Meissner's new project, "The Wolf & Me". It's spoken word at it's finest. It's super fresh. It's one of those projects you throw on with a gang of friends, supply the wine and embrace the conversation that "The Wolf & Me" invokes.
"The Wolf & Me" is a well packaged (the PDF is serious) creative offering that delivers just over 25 minutes of Meissner's words, a host of production (Blu, Cazeaux OSLO, Just Plain Ant, Bisco Smith, CAV3 and The Aftermath) and a few features (Maya Azucena, Jesse Boykins III, Dunce Apprentice and Broke MC). You even get a little singing from Meissner on the project, something she calls "her honest and edgy tone." She definitely delivers herself on the nine track EP.
I think the press release says it best, "The Wolf & Me is something that will linger in your soul."
It truly does. I enjoyed it.
"The Wolf & Me" will be available May 1, 2010, for just $7. Support. Enjoy.

Check It ... Tanika Charles "Sillyhappywild"
One of my favorite blogs/sites is hiphopiscoolagain.com, run by the homie @jcrillz aka Ghostface Crillah, out on the West Coast. I caught this joint from Tanika Charles aka Mz Chawls, the songstress out of Canada, on his site this morning. Like he said, it is refreshing. Enjoy.
