On April 17th, come witness a night of everything Hip-Hop from B Boying, Beat Boxing, Graffiti, and DJing as we celebrate the release of two AFA projects. We also test the skills of a few MCs to see if they can handle all obstacles thrown at them.
CT BBoys United Outcast Crew will be in attendance.
Featured performances by Defynshn (Beat Session), The Rising Sun Quest, Expertiz, The Protege and DJ Mo Niklz on the wheels all night.
If you think you got skills or know somebody who is an all around MC, then hit me up at Risingsunquest@gmail.com to get a spot in the MC skills competition.
The skills competition will consist of freestyling, back and fourth with a partner, acapella, roll playing and beat juggling, which is where you spit over a beat with the DJ switching up the tempo. We also have some surprise challenges too.
This event is all about the music. There is no bar but feel free to bring your own drinks if you're +21.

Joint I produced off the Buff1 "Small City, Big Name" Mixtape in 2006. I originally made this beat April 25, 2004. Felt it was only right to reintroduce ya'll to this cause of how Buff wrote the song. He wrote this joint in maybe 05-06. Its crazy cause he writes from the perspective of him already living in 2010!! Most of it came true too..excpet for the "no more sleeping on floors" part..good job Buff!.haha..enjoy!!
"While there is one particular female garnishing all of the headlines, there are still a few multi-talented upstart female emcees that are beginning to make a mark in the industry and doing it the old-fashioned way—making dope music.
One such female emcee, Likwuid, has made a commitment to use her gift of song and supreme lyricism, to change the negative portrayal of women in the entertainment industry. Now residing in Harlem but born and raised in the suburbs of Columbia, South Carolina, Likwuid has always been a member of positive change in her community.
Likwuid’s debut LP, Gummie Bears and Champagne, will be released on June 26th, 2010."
4th Avenue Jones, conceived by Ahmad Jones, known to long time Hip Hop fans as Ahmad, is a band that has consistently pushed the boundaries of its sound with a groundbreaking blend of rock, soul, and Hip Hop influences. The group name comes from the last name of founding members Ahmad and Tena Jones (married), and the street where they lived in South Central Los Angeles when they began their rehearsals. Other members include Tim Stewart aka "Timmy Shakes" on lead guitar, Gailybird on violin, "Phat" Albert Parker on bass, and Derrick “Dee” Calloway on drums.
