Yep! Caught yet another dope show at Toad's. This time, Jedi Mind Tricks came through to amp the hell out the crowd with track after track. They brought guests too. Blacastan returned for another quick set after popping through at the Apathy show. 7L & Esoteric was in the building to open up the show and didn't disappoint. They all definitely put it down for Hip-Hop. Check it out....
JC Poppe is back with a new joint, "Dribble", produced by 88 Keys. Poppe is working hard on his new project "Tea Party" and no, not about what you think.
"The title has absolutely nothing to do with those loons that protest whatever they don’t happen to care for and everything to do with something else," Poppe wrote on his blog. "Since the completion of my first album there has been a lot of crazy stuff to happen to me and it has sent me into a downward spiral several times. It happens to everybody. So, with this album I am throwing out my baggage in an act of defiance against that which pains me. I am hoping to gain myself back through this whole process."
Yes, it is finally here! You can't imagine how excited we are about this step (well maybe you can since we've been talking about it for days). We decided to take the leap and get this podcast going. Shoutout to DJ MP for joining our team for the weekly podcast. He does his thing on the mix! We're excited about the continued partnership with him!
There's not too much commentary on this first one mostly because we're working out all the logistics but we're giving you 11 quality tracks, close to 36 minutes of music. Take this joint with you to the gym, on your commute, to work while you're trying to ignore your boss or just chilling at the crib. Each week we'll upload a new podcast featuring good music, great commentary and even occasionally some interviews with our favorite artists.
Don't forget to subscribe, so you can get greatness delivered directly to your music playing devices each week. Thanks for the support!

I finally got it and have been killing it ever since. Jay Mills gave me the go ahead to feature it, so enjoy the track of the week. Don't forget to hit that subscribe button!
We featured poet Caits (Caitlin) Meissner on the blog back in our early days. I remember hearing her poetic flow over subtle beats and thinking she was so fresh and dope. Well, Caits is back with a new project, "The Wolf & Me", which hits May 1, 2010. She released "Blackest Blood" (produced by Just Plain Ant) ahead of the full project. Check out the bandcamp page to hear the track. It's a very mellow and enjoyable track. Check it out. Also check out www.caitsmeissner.com for more information about the upcoming project.
I caught "Fade Out" in the email today after sending out a request for tracks to be considered for our weekly podcast. I'm a little late on the upload of this mixtape, Life's Not So Sample 2 (www.lifesnotsosample2.com) but it's definitely worth the download. Check out volume one in the series too (www.lifesnotsosample.com).
I caught this four track beat tape from *hitmayng. Overall the project is fresh but "julyjulyjulyjuly" is definitely my favorite track. If I could rhyme, I'd do something over the jawn. But, I can't rhyme. Maybe you can rhyme and if so, you should holla at the kid to do something over the track.
I caught this track earlier today. After doing a little research, came across this regarding the track.
"Aiight folks, backstory on Star: This was recorded back in '05-06 at Young Guru's crib sometime after the release of Minstrel Show. This was intended for Leftback as an iTunes bonus track but we just got word today that @9thwondermusic doesn't want us to use it for whatever reason, and that's fine. In any event, I'm not gonna let anything or anybody stop me from getting music to my fans. Fuck that. Enjoy. And as always, thank you for listening" -@phontigallo
I caught this track from the good folks over at Uncommon Records from Agartha Audio's newest project, The Hollow Earth. It's fresh. If you dig it, go and check out the album over at iTunes. Enjoy.
This is our first "Track of the Week" feature on The Mad Bloggers. We're excited about it. This will precede our weekly podcast coming soon, where we plan to bring you great music and commentary. Subscribe and you'll get both delivered to ya, so you can enjoy on your music listening devices! Obviously they'll be posted here weekly too.
Alright, this week's track comes from Haz Solo and Dylan Thomas off their "All Jokes Aside" project. "Phone Sex" was also featured on MKE's Best. The track is dope. Enjoy and if you dig it, get that album.
