TELL 'EM WHY YOU MAD: Blame It On the Stupidity

T-Pain releases new track "Blame It On the Stupidity" featuring his "BIG ASS CHAIN"

Dear T-Pain,

You're an idiot. No, it’s not because of your excessive use of auto-tune. It’s because you felt the need to buy the dumbest piece of jewelry in the history of purchasing jewelry. This is your money, no doubt about that, so I'm not going to tell you how you should have spent it. However, I'm sure you could have thought of something else to spend it on, right homie? You know they saw your dumb ass from the door when you walked in, right? The sales man had you sized up and knew that you would bring in a hefty commission. I'd like to think that you didn't really spend $410k on the 10lb piece.

Just for the record, I'm not hating. You know why, because I'm not a hater, just a dude with an opinion and my opinion is that in addition to you being an idiot, you're ignorant and like my man @jcrillz (who is also a dope blogger) said on Twitter, "what's worse is it should actually say pendant, not chain. Ignorance abounds." Why? Because chain is the link you wear around your neck. This, my friend is a "BIG ASS CHARM". What you should have gotten is "BIG ASS IDIOT". Maybe even "BIG ASS FOOL" or "BIG ASS WASTE".

T-Pain, you're familiar with MC Hammer right? Are you trying to MC Hammer your money right now and throw it all down the drain? And then many years later you’ll have a “comeback” with a reality television show called Stripper Time? Oh, that’s cool, maybe you’re setting up for the future with that move. If this is the plan, that time in the middle is going to be rough though, ask Hammer.

Hey, I'm not saying you should consider yourself a role model but there are some kids that look up to your foolish ass. So, now in addition to thinking they could have a career with very little talent and use of technology, they may also be thinking about how great it would be to be able to blow $410k on a useless item.

I wonder what Suze Orman would say about your recent purchase in light of a recession. Personally, I think you should fire both your financial planner and business manager for allowing you to make such a foolish purchase, and smack yourself (really hard).

You're a fool!

PS: If it’s fake and this is just a stunt, I still think you're an idiot! By the way, how do you feel about that Death of Auto-Tune track?

RIP! Craig G "Skinny Jeans Funeral"

I never understood why dudes rocked skinny jeans ever. They just weren't my thing! I couldn't rock with them. Mainly because I appreciate not having to jump around pulling on my pants like I'm putting on scuba gear to get them on. I think it's foolish that your jeans fit tighter than your girl's pair. To me, that's just not a good look!

But, heads rock what they want to rock, so I'm not gonna hate. I will however have an opinion and say that it's not me and I think that it looks silly on grown men (yep, I can hear the skinny jean wearing men yelling "HATER!") I'm sure many ladies are with me on this one and saying that this fashion trend for men is a FAIL! Dudes in skinny jeans is like Spec releasing a video "for the ladies" - You say one thing, but your actions say another. No disrespect our skinny jean wearing followers, I just can't rock with it.

Came across this track from Craig G "Skinny Jeans Funeral". Word, I'm down with burying skinny jeans and auto-tune the same week.

Big Rec "Real Hip Hop (Is Back)"

This track is straight heat! When I first heard it, I was like "this shit right here... this shit right here ..." (in my Katt Williams voice).

This is the viral single "Real Hip Hop (Is Back)" from the Atlanta underground emcee BIG REC (aka REConcile). The production is crazy (produced by FirstBorn) and may cause you to blow out your speakers.

"The song is a movement fam ... Been picking up real heavy out in the ATL underground," Big Rec said. Track is too heavy not share! Definitely feeling this joint.

Microphone Beast. Undeniable Presence. Authentic M.C. Real Hip Hop Essence Since mediocrity has become the standard in rap music, it's obvious why many believe hip hop is dead. Real hip hop enthusiasts longing for balance in music can now breathe easy: welcome BIG REC - Excerpt from MySpace Bio

Melissa Czarnik "Thunder Summer Storm" Live

Melissa Czarnik is one of our favorite underground female artist. She's also one of our earliest supporter when we revamped the blog and we appreciate her for that. After recently returning from an overseas trip, she was in studio with 91.7 WMSE-FM out of Milwaukee on June 2, where she performed live on air with the Eric Mire Band. We really appreciate her style and Thunder Summer Storm is one of the amazing tracks she performed on-air. Check it out.

TELL 'EM WHY YOU MAD: Momma’s Gone Wild…

Reality T.V. has definitely taken a turn for the truly tasteless. Exploiting children?? My goodness, where do I begin…

Let’s start with the most popular, Jon and Kate Gosselin. For those of you living under a rock, Jon and Kate Gosselin are the parents on “Jon and Kate Plus 8” who are currently under the media radar. They are also being investigated for exploiting their children to make money for themselves. We all know that parents of multiples, especially more than quadruplets are often the targets of endorsements and donations from corporate sponsors. But those things come at a hefty price. The pair have 8 children, a set of twin girls and sextuplets.

The children are 5 years old now and have been on T.V. since they were in utero. The camera crews of the T.V. show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” have become a permanent fixture in their lives. They follow them around capturing intimate moments and basically documenting their every move. Isn’t this a privacy issue? The children’s lives are intruded upon at the hands of TLC, the demands of the show, and the needs of the family’s corporate sponsors.

Kate Gosselin has had free plastic surgery and a makeover and now she is a “celebrity”. She went from “housewife” to “hottie”. She has written books about her life (as if the TV show wasn’t enough) and travels around making paid public appearances, without her husband. Her most recent sighting was at the beach in a skimpy bikini, which is a far cry from the laundry room and kitchen we are used to seeing her in. She has been deemed a “monster-mega-bitch” and known for belittling her husband both on and off the camera. People are coming out and starting to admit that she was the brains behind the operation and used this show as a way to make money.

Can’t really knock her hustle, but did she exploit her kids in the process? It is rumored that the two are separating, as they have both been seen with other people. One has to ask… is this a ratings move? Is this another way to earn more money?

“Octomom” a.k.a. Nadya Suleman is next on deck for a reality show. She is a single mom in California. She has 14 children in total, 8 of which are octuplets. She is said to have inked a deal with 3Ball Productions to chronicle her life and the lives of her children. She has already made close to a million dollars doing interviews and other publicity events. Now if this is not kid exploitation and clearly a money move, I don’t know what is.

Then there’s the The Duggar family of the T.V. show “18 and Counting”. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are the parents of 18 children. Their website opens up with a biblical quote “Children are a heritage of the lord…” Hmmmmm…. That kind of freaked me out. As I watched this show, the majority of the housework and raising of the younger kids was done by older siblings. All of the children are home-schooled by their mother. Now I imagine that siblings can pitch in at some level but are the other children supposed to be responsible for all that? Their house is to die for. Video game rooms, diner style kitchen… Who can afford that? Sure they own their own real estate company and are debt free but I’m sure being on this reality show only helps their pockets. Their endorsements are not so evident but with 18 children but I can’t imagine that mom and dad can do it alone.

They believe that God will determine how many children they will have and hey, everyone has their own opinion but when will it be too much. I say they can counter that and buy a pack of condoms.

Now my question behind all of this is… If it weren’t for their reality shows and product endorsements, would these people be able to take care of these children straight up? I know some people with two kids and have decent paying jobs, live in an apartment and are struggling to make it.

Is it morally and ethically okay to exploit the lives of your children to make money?

So Does the Hood Stop Auto-Tune 'Cause Hov Said So?

"You rappers singing too much ... get back to rap ... you t-paining too much..."

Jay is saying what a lot of heads had been saying for a while on blogs and underground music in his new track D.O.A. Remember that KRS-One and Buckshot joint that dropped a month or so ago, Robot? Yeah, KRS-One and Buckshot pretty much hammered auto-tune there. You know what folks said, "they're haters." Why? Cause them dudes had an opinion. They questioned their age and why they were taking shots at the industry, because apparently that was played out in some circles. That's dumb shit. Take shots at the industry when they're not representing real hip-hop and creativity. That's cool with me. But Hov said it now, so let's see what impact it has.

Some say he's an idea biter on this track. We dig Jay, but we have to agree. Yeah, heads are taking shots at Jay over it but by and large, most people are feeling it because it's Jay. We gonna rock with that Robot track more out of respect though. What would have been dope is if Jay had teamed up with KRS-One and Buckshot and done a collaboration track from jump.

Hmm, guess Kanye's next album won't be like Heartbreak.

But hey, what does The Mad Bloggers know, we're just music fans.

Jay-Z "D.O.A."

KRS-One and Buckshot, "Robot"

The Word from Twitter after we threw out "Jay dropped DOA and set off a debate... Some like it, some pass on it ... How do u feel?"

@SPMidniteMusic @madbloggers hes saying that music is about passion and the will to get better. in other words. to many souljaboys and autotune not enough hip hop artist

@madnewsblog @madbloggers you are right. its just decent not a classic. Jay isnt capable of creating another classic

@Dean_Big @madbloggers im feeling it. it is a sound that is missing from hip hop of late. #Jay-Z

@MentalElastic @madbloggers Not a classic record but I like it.

@MzSuiGeneris @madbloggers Lyrically he's killin' them out there. He's not saying anything new, he basically just aired it out. He can do that. I respect it.

@Dannigyrl @madbloggers I don't like it. But I think hip-hop is so thirsty now for REAL talent & REAL lyrics, that we are settling. It's not a classic

Throwback Thursday – Eric B & Rakim “Juice - Know the Ledge”

So do you remember where you were the night the movie Juice came out?? I do. And I remember being hyped up after watching the flick. Even though this movie is not Academy Award material, I enjoyed it and it has meaning to all the people growing up in the ‘hood. To this day there are young men in the hood trying to be the “Bishop” and end up the same way he did. Tupac did his thing and so did Omar Epps. But who better to do the anthem than my all time favorites, Eric B. & Rakim ... Enjoy!!!

Throwback Thursday...Nas - Street Dreams ft R. Kelly

I felt like bringing it back. Listening to an old mixtape (yes, cassette) by DJ Doo Wop and it has some old hot joints. Thought about this song real quick. Wasn't on it but it got me thinking....I need to start something on the blog. And here we go. Throwback Thursday. Enjoy.

TELL 'EM WHY YOU MAD: You Know It’s Summer When…

So as I got over my angst about UGG’s in the summertime, a new footwear problem presented itself. The flip-flop/$3 Chinese slipper epidemic is in full effect.

Flip-flops are a must-have for the beach. But when they start to become an everyday wardrobe accessory, it’s a problem. Women all over the country are guilty of this offense, even me. Like UGG’s, flip-flops are worn in all types of weather. Be it sun, snow, rain or sleet – someone, somewhere will be seen in a pair of flip-flops.

Being that I frequent the beach in the summertime, I see a lot of flip-flops. But what bothers me is that as I navigate away from the beach, I see more and more pairs of flip-flops. The supermarket, the mall, church and even the club… Are you serious?? You are not wearing a pair of flip-flops to the club! Flip-flops with jeans, shorts, skirts, dress pants and socks…. Wait a second, flip-flops and socks??

Well I guess flip-flops and socks are better than flip-fops and unkempt feet.

Ladies, an important fact of life is the pedicure. It is important to keep a fresh pedicure or at least “neat feet”, especially in the summertime when other people have to look at them. There is nothing worse than seeing a pair of flip-flops on busted, ashy, pedicure-less feet. Please be mindful of the fact that after walking so close to the dirty ground, especially in NYC, both your flip-flops and feet are now dirty. That is unattractive and unsanitary, as there are random germs everywhere. Imagine meeting a man and he’s checking you out… guaranteed he will notice the feet and keep it movin’. And ladies, please do NOT put tips or acrylic extensions on your big toes. I mean I don’t have to explain that one. Do I??

Men you are not exempt from this one. I have seen a few of you guys out and about in flip-flops. Flip-flops with jeans, flip-flops with sweats and even more disturbing… Flip-flops and basketball shorts?? How unattractive is a man flopping around in a wife beater and basketball shorts. Ugggghhhhhh. There is nothing like seeing a man worth looking at wearing… flip-flops. And most men consider pedicures to be a “female thing” so some of your feet should be kept in a sneaker.

The “$3 Chinese Slipper” is another tacky nemesis that we can do without. They are the flat mesh slippers that come in all colors with beading on the top…

Seriously ladies, we should not be wearing these outside of the confines of our home. They have been spotted at the workplace with suits, dress slacks, sun dresses … Seriously, you had to have looked in the mirror to see that this was not an acceptable look. The slipper does not look good with any outfit except… pajamas.

Flip-flops, Chinese Slippers and UGG’s are three fashion infiltrators that we could definitely do without.

What I'm Listening To...Big Pun ft. Black Thought

It was rumored that when Big Pun came up with the idea to do a track called Super Lyrical, that many would assume he would enlist a well known lyricist by the name of Canibus. But as it turned out, he chose an MC I consider in my top 5 all time, possibly top 3 easy. Black Thought of The Legendary Roots Crew definitely made most of his opportunity to shine with the first Latin rapper to go platinum. Track is still so ill to this day. Anytime my mp3 player lands on this track randomly, I can't help but blast the volume up and hit repeat about 3-4 times. Check it out...
