Fresh off last week’s 200th edition of SNSS, we’re hitting you over the head with another dope show, this time, packed full of exclusive joints that I believe we world premiered Sunday on KUBE. In today’s internet age, the traditional idea of ‘exclusives’ has pretty much gone out the window, and regardless, I’ve never even been that big a fan of the whole notion anyway. Simply because a DJ plays something first, doesn’t make it worthwhile (”NEW SOULJA BOY!!!!”).
Instead, this past week, we ran some great songs that the general public just hasn’t heard yet, but everyone will probably have soon. Some of them will be included on our upcoming Cornerstone Mixtape (with some other exclusives), but who knows if they’ll leak before that drops in May. Speaking of which, DJ B-Mello, J. Moore, and I finished up the mixtape last night (shout to Taybot and L for the engineering assistance!) and it sounds fresh. Looking forward to y’all hearing it, but for now, peep the show and some world premieres from Fashawn (prod. Exile), Roddy Rod ft. Phonte & Carlitta Durand, Asher Roth, and Tanya Morgan ft. Blu. Despite The Economy...Business Is Still A Hit.
So on my way to the NYC to see aforementioned artists Sunbears!, The Black Kids and Mates of State, I stopped by a local pizza shop to grab a slice before the show. Sat on a stool in the corner, minding my business, chit chatting with a friend of mine when I look behind them and low and behold......a side of a soda machine filled with these little pull tab type flyers offering services ranging from help with your Mac, to guitar lessons, to writing for actors. But one stood out for two reasons. First, the title on the flyer in big, bold letters. And second, it was the most taken. At first, I thought it was a joke. But if you read the paper, I just couldn't find anything humorous or sense some kind of sarcasm in it. Maybe I'm not getting it. Maybe it's some inside joke that I, as an outsider, can't decipher. Either way, I guess even the economy can't stop the flow of money for some jobs! Watch your back, folks. Hahaha!
South Park Spoofs Kanye West In A Song Called "Gay Fish"
This all stemmed from an episode on South Park called "Fishsticks" which originally aired on 4/08/09 on Comedy Central. If you ask me, I'd say it was pretty funny. Nothing hilarious but if you've witnessed Kanye's personality in the media/public, then you see why they did what they did and why they did it in the way they did. LOL!!! Just saying.

Quick Observation... Tanning is Stupid
I think teenage girls have no reason to ever be at a tanning salon. I mean, parents shouldn't allow it in the first place. What's the point? I think it's obnoxious and parents that allow it are absolutely ridiculous. I mean, I think tanning salons in general are stupid but to allow your teenage daughter to get the idea in her mind that it's okay is foolish. Parents need to have control of their teens and keep them young while they are young. They also need to learn how to say no to certain things and this is one of them. I'm just saying. Perhaps I'm just ignorant to the desire to tan, considering I have a natural one.

What I'm Watching... Ryan Leslie - "How It Was Supposed to Be"
Ryan Leslie is such a beast! He's a really talented dude and I appreciate he brings his fans into the studio with him as he works on his craft. Check out the 'How It Was Supposed to Be' video and a look at a track he's doing with Fab and Keri Hilson (see below). What I'm Listening to Right Now... Pete Philly & Perquisite
I came across Pete Philly and Perquisite, a crew out of Amsterdam. According to their site "Pete Philly and Perquisite found each other in their quest to widen the boundaries of the hip hop genre, which is dominated by meaningless bling videos, lyrics about boobs and guns, and music deprived from any form of creativity." I've listened to a few tracks, watched their videos and their love of the craft is displayed so eloquently in both. You can tell that they truly enjoy what they do.
