What I'm Watching: A-Class - "That Shit Right" (Prod. by Tom Delay Beats)
Dope track by A-Class here with "That Shit Right". He poses a lot of questions for those on the other side of his mic while holding his own lyrically. Peep the visuals then make sure you check that album out too.
Nightwriter is A-Class’s 3rd Brake Fast Records’ release, produced entirely by Tom Delay Beats. Although the pair has worked closely together throughout the years, this is first time Class has spit exclusively on Tom Delay’s production for an entire project.
A-Class is a battle rap veteran who has consistently provided a stream of exceptional music, even before he stepped on the battle scene. In the Grind Time and KOTD rings, he has faced the likes of Dizaster, Rone, Madness, Tantrum, and Sonny Bamboo. He remains a fierce opponent in the battle circuit and continues to travel the world squaring up with some of the scene’s best.
The composition of the Nightwriter EP primarily documents A-Class’s experiences on the road and in between battles, much of it having been written during about his expeditions, as well as about them. The progressive emcee continues to develop his customary free-flowing rhyme construction and unconventional flows around some catchy hooks, which is largely deviant from the unorthodox structure of Class’s previous recorded work.
Tom Delay Beats’ phonic background for the 7 song EP is expanse, ranging from bass heavy joints like “Bitch What You Talkin Bout” and “Kenny Lofton” to the funky-sounding sampling found on “Bus To NYC” and true school bangers like “Super Fat Laces”. Tom Delay structures the overall sound of Nightwriter with clean, addictive melodies and heavy drums that allow A-Class to display his rhythmic abilities.

What I'm Watching: Bilderburgh - "Written Agreement" featuring Crooked I (Prod. by C-Lance)
Daaaaaaaaamn! Wow. This joint is fire. I'll definitely be on the lookout for Bilderburgh. They are not fucking playing.
The Pittsburgh, PA collective known as Bilderburgh consisting of Crumb, Blender, Traxx, Raspy and Rambo are set to release their debut album, Speak Easy, on 11-11-14 courtesy of RBC Records. The five-man collective consists of past War Veterans, Blue Collar workers and Underground Hip-Hop aficionados whose tracks reflect their personal and group trials and tribulations through stories of combat, interpersonal relationships, alcoholism and their never-ending admiration for Hip-Hop culture; that binds them all both in and outside of the booth.
Speak Easy features an eclectic blend of some of the groups primary influences representing the factions of the Wu-Tang Clan, Army of Pharoahs, Slaughterhouse, Gold Chain Military and more with guest contributions from Canibus, Planet Asia, Timbo King, Reef the Lost Cause, C-Lance and Crooked I.
Crooked I joins Bilderburgh for the album’s lead-single, “Written Agreement,” which is produced by C-Lance.

What I'm Watching: Oddisee & Good Compny - "The Goings On (Live)"
I don't know how much more I can positively speak on what Oddisee brings to music in a whole but I do know that I'm extremely grateful for the talent he shares with it and with his group Good Compny. I've gotten the pleasure of seeing them all perform live and it was one of my favorite musical experiences. Amazing! Production, lyrics, flow, live stage show, etc., etc. If you still haven't bought these projects he's created, I highly suggest you go do that. It'll only help advance the growth in hearing more of it.
Check out what Oddisee had to say about the "Tangible Dreams" project:
"I live in a gentrified part of Brooklyn, I eat out several times a week, I travel the world sampling the best that cities across the globe have to offer. Do I live in a penthouse loft? Am I dinning in five stars restaurants? Can you only find me in the most exclusive areas? Do I own a jet? The answer to all the above is most certainly no. I’m just a regular man from Prince George’s county, Maryland that figured shit out.
I discovered that I can make a career in an arena dominated by artists that sell false dreams. I realized that although the masses may not know of my body of work, it doesn’t take the whole world to have the world I want. Tangible Dream is a mix-tape dedicated to the deconstruction of our traditional ideas of success & shedding light on the possibility of a sustainable rap life.
These rhymes were written in economy class seats, these beats were produced on long bus trips & these songs were recorded in airbnb apartments. All I want to do is make music for a living so that I can live to make music. The only dreams I’m interested in are the ones I can grasp. It just so happens that anything you want bad enough can be obtained. Perhaps the world may never know of my accomplishments but accomplishments they are nonetheless."

What I'm Watching: Diamond District (yU, Oddisee, Uptown XO) - "First Step"
Diamond District is back with the visuals to their first and dope out the gate single to the album "March On Washington". This album is going to be bananas.
DC's Holy Trinity is back with their first visuals from the new album "March On Washington." yU, Oddisee & Uptown XO enlist director Jay Brown for the visual narrative on "First Step." Starting with XO we see the DC emcee light up the opening verse putting spirit back in the music before passing the torch on to his brethren. yU then spits cold bars with the linguistic dexterity of a seasoned veteran, all the while casually grinding an African chew stick. Meanwhile, the video lays out the metaphor of three emcees on separate paths coming together to form one group. In the last scene the track's producer and final lyricist, Oddisee, takes the helm of his ship: "Man, it's just the way it go, if I want it, say it so." Get ready for the new album coming October 14th.

What I'm Watching: Jazz Spastiks - "Dumb!" featuring Yesh
Nod ya head. Get dumb! Check out the latest visuals from Jazz Spastiks featuring Yesh. This joint is extra chill and gives me a late 90s nostalgic feel to it due to the music and the Sifl and Olly type characters. Haha.
Jazz Spastiks' latest single Dumb! is brought to life by sock puppets in this brand new head nodding video. The beats remain tough even though the musical equipment is made from multicoloured felt! Dumb Remix is featured on 'The Product - Remixes' Album dropping very soon on CD, Digital and Limited Edition 12" Vinyl. Dumb! is taken from the highly acclaimed Jazz Spastiks album 'The Product' available now!

What I'm Watching: J-Live - "Not Listening"
J-Live not trying to listen when you ain't even saying shit. Especially if it's sounds like a broken record. Truthfully, neither are we. Haha.
You on some next shit, really are you sure?
Stop me if you ain't never heard this before
Okay, you got on some jewelry, you push a nice ride
You really like the color of the leather inside
You grew up in the hood and you surprised you survived
You nice on the mic, top 10 dead or alive
You prefer pretty girls, especially thick
Coincidentally, that's the type that's on your dick
Your crazy misadventures are unique and bugged
Like remember that time you shot guns and sold drugs?
Your next album's about to change the game
The world's on notice to remember your name
You love where you live and that's where you get your style from
How I just summed up your last three albums?!

What I'm Watching: L'Orange - "Need You" feat. Blu
Amazing!
A post-apocalyptic Adam & Eve story...
Director's Note - "As a multi-media artist coming from a back ground in performance and video art, the first time I heard L'Orange's "Need You" I was struck with the songs dichotomy of beauty and melancholy.I wanted to create a world, a universe where this song could live and breathe to reveal and tease out the tension of these themes . The gorgeous ebbs and flows of the song partnered with the rhymes of Blu push the boundaries for the possibilities for imagery. With the amazing space of Murphy's Ranch practically in my back yard I was inspired to develop a post apocalyptic Adam and Eve story that again would play off of the themes of beauty and melancholy. Creating a more cinematic and filmic treatment allowed for collaboration with fellow artists to explore this post apocalyptic world where choosing life may mean choosing death." - EmaLee Arroyo
