Monster House "Chronicles"

Wisconsin based SPEAK Easy, Panic and Audio Pilot are Monster House. Their Raiders of The Lost Art album was one of my favorite projects this year. This cut was always a standout. Shouts to Uni-Fi Records and Monster House for letting me a part of the project. Anyhoo, enjoy the music. Chea!

TMB x Uni-Fi Records Presents: Monster House "Raiders of the Lost Art"

Back in February the homie Audio Pilot sent me a track that had been recorded that weekend by SPEAK Easy and Panic. It was among a few that had been done with him on production and the two emcees on the mic. What started as an email introducing me to the newly formed crew going by the name Monster House, became a partnership with TMB and Milwaukee based Uni-Fi Records to present the project. TMB has had ties with MKE since we started back in '09 and we're excited to be part of this LP. With a series of well received singles, we finally present the final product, eleven solid tracks, recorded over the course of six weekends or so. This is Monster House and welcome to the Raiders of the Lost Art. This is storytelling at its' finest. Chea!

Download ... The White Russian - "On The Rocks" (Beat Tape)

Here are some more instrumentals you can put a couple of bars on. Haha. Thanks for the folks at UniFi Records for this.

The WhiteRussian
When one thinks of hip-hop production, Moscow is ordinarily not the first place which springs to mind. Nevertheless, from behind the once mighty Iron Curtain comes Dmitriy Pochtarev (aka Dima "The White Russian"), a young man who stepped out of Moscow and into the Golden Era of hip-hop circa 1994. Having absorbed the sample-heavy production styles of hip-hop's heyday, it was not until the turn of the millennium that Dima discovered his own knack for creating compelling beats from diverse source material. After a number of years spent honing his craft, Dima founded Uni-Fi Records out of Milwaukee and provided a fertile environment for musicians of all kinds to work on their music. After pairing up with KingHellBastard and handling production for their sophomore release "Cups & Bottles", Dima acquired the moniker White Russian as a fitting complement to his heritage and the alcohol-fueled sessions which gave birth to the album. With that record under his belt, The White Russian has gone on to produce, record and engineer songs for artist both local (House of M, KHB, Malicious, DNA, Dana Coppafeel), and nationally known (Sadat X, Akrobatik, Raashan Ahmad, Stricklin of EMC), all the while continuing to operate the ever-expanding Uni-Fi Records and further his skills as a producer (2nd Place in 2009 Milwaukee Beatdown). With an ear for unique samples and classic hip-hop beats, The White Russian is a producer with a sonic palette as vast as his homeland.

"On The Rocks" is a compilation of older beats (2004-2008).

Dana Coppafeel x Reason "Know Flight Zone"

I'll be honest, I've been sitting on this project for a little while now. I blame it on time. If only I had more time to listen and share music. Dammit!

Anyway, I've been a fan of the homie Dana Coppafeel for sometime now. And recently I've began to really appreciate the quality production from Reason, who has an extensive production resume on the Milwaukee Hip-Hop scene. The two have teamed up to deliver a high energy project in Know Flight Zone. With features from G-Eazy, Adebisi, Prophetic and more, I'm rocking with this project for sure. Shouts to Uni.Fi Records.

Enjoy! Chea!

The Journey to Hip-Hop ... Milwaukee: The Lab Partners

Peace to the good folks at Uni-Fi Records. I caught The Lab Partners over on their site. Impressed with the music. Check their bio courtesy of Uni-Fi. You can catch more info on them (and other artist) at www.unifirecords.com
"The Lab Partners is a collaborative effort between super producer, The LMNtlyst and emcee, Phantom Channel (Rusty Ps) that began as a random experiment. The result was a pleasant surprise. With no expectations and nothing confining them, the duo created a batch of unique musical specimens. Listening back on the session left them both excited by the prospect of being a part of something so different. The two partook in a few more extremely productive sessions that lead them to begin honing in on the sound they were going for; open and refreshing funk-based metamorphic grooves mixed with an experimental vocal elixir.

What you can expect to hear is a reprieve from the mundane, stereotypical music of late in favor of an honest approach to creating music. There are no samples, only computer manipulated live instrumentation. You won’t be inundated with round after round of lyrical artillery, nor will you be auto tuned out of your mind in an attempt to conform to the current trend in radio airplay. The Lab Partners sound is a lot like ice water on a 95 degree day, exactly what you’re thirsty for.

This project sees Phantom Channel branching out into the world of live instrumentation for the first time, sitting behind the drum kit and handling various other percussive instruments as well as the vocal side of things while The LMNtlyst handles everything from guitar to bass to melodica to keys and xylophone as well as the engineering.

The best music is not over thought, over analyzed or forced. It happens naturally. It’s not until you’re able to truly capture a moment musically that you begin to notice how unique each moment is. The Lab Partners are bottling those moments and pouring you a sonic cocktail."
